Re: Nes 60 Pin Connectors
You can also get lucky with certain other early black-label NES games. For instance: my copy of Excitebike. Until I opened the cartridge, I had no clue that it was the Japanese Excitebike PCB fitted onto a Nintendo-made Famicom to NES converter. You can add Excitebike to the list of games with conve...

Re: Unmodded SNES: graphical issues on shadow tile or vector
Okay, no, your system is guaranteed legit. There were never fakes of the original-model Super NES(SNS-001), only the Super NES Mini(SNS-101) had fakes produced. You may want to first give the cartridge slot a good cleaning. To do this, wrap a little towel around an old credit card or another card ab...

Re: making my own Power Base Converter
I've managed to build a Power Base Converter and can tell you it's a MAJOR pain in the ***, especially with all the wires. It's a f-ing mess. But once it works, it works very well. Like Eagle5953 said, just get a Sports game or any other game you don't care about. Be sure it has all the pins on the ...

Re: Unmodded SNES: graphical issues on shadow tile or vector
SNS-101 with color issues(or is it SNS-001, since you mention "the heavy one")? If you got an SNS-101 system and have color issues, odds are your system is a fake from China. If not, it could be a PPU issue. If you've got an SNS-101 system, take pictures of the system from all angles and the motherb...

Re: FC 16 Go internal pics -- First Commercial Snes Portable
Wow, that's REALLY weird. I'm going to open up my FC Twin and see how I soldered the lockout chip on its Super NES board, as the solder spot is identical minus a spot to solder the 2.2uF capacitor. EDIT: Hang on, I might have made a mistake on how the capacitor should be soldered. After looking at p...

Was the writing facing you or away from you? If the writing was facing you, I'm pretty sure you soldered the lockout chip backwards.SummerSoFar wrote:It was upside down in relation to the rest of the board.Ace_1 wrote:This begs the question: how was the lockout chip oriented when you soldered it in?

Re: FC 16 Go internal pics -- First Commercial Snes Portable
It's the only reason why games with the SA-1 co-processor don't work. The same would happen if you were to use an SA-1 game on original hardware with a disabled lockout chip. Simply solder a lockout chip from a Super NES game you don't care about, move the 2 solder blobs on solder points SW2 and SW3...

Re: Genesis 1 with NES power supply
I don't know if that would be a reason for it do die, but if it did go in that way, you could just replace the 7805(the only thing with a heatsink) and it would work again... It definitely is the reason it died. The NES power supply and Genesis power supply output different types of electricity. A ...

Re: The new GenCore
If you could post pictures of the GENCore's board, I'd like to see them. I have been hearing of some voltage issues with the new Geniclones, so I would like to see how to fix said issues(cartridge slot voltage being too low, mainly).

Possible FC3 Plus Genesis board revision?
I'm asking this as the FC3 Plus is supposed to be completely incompatible with Virtua Racing, but in this video, Virtua Racing is shown to be 100% compatible with the FC3 Plus: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DsqKf7C3pt4" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Look at position 5:14. Virtua Rac...

Re: FC 16 Go internal pics -- First Commercial Snes Portable
Okay, I've figured out where the 2.2uF capacitor is supposed to be soldered. On the lockout chip's solder spot, you have to solder the 2.2uF capacitor between the pin closest to the edge of the motherboard(first pin from the right at the bottom of the board) and Ground. The positive leg of the capac...

Thanks Hailrazer. 8) Here's the image detailing the mod spots(click to enlarge): http://img34.imageshack.us/img34/1984/fc16gomodspots.th.jpg I still have yet to determine where the 2.2uF capacitor is supposed to be soldered onto this thing, but when I do, I'll let you know. Once these mods are perfo...

Re: FC 16 Go internal pics -- First Commercial Snes Portable
That's a problem. I don't own an FC16 Go(portables take a while to show up in my area), so I can't really give you a good picture guide for what you should do to get the FC16 Go fully PAL-compatible. If Hailrazer doesn't mind me using his pictures and editing them in Paint to show the mod areas to g...
