NiCad batteries have a different chemical composition than NimH, so there are different methods for charging them. I don't know exactly what happens, but it's bad.
Good to hear your board isn't fried, good luck getting everything working.

Re: Screens You CAN and CANNOT Use
Yes, that's usable. For that price (as long as it works) I would buy it.

Hey, be nice - he might not know much.
For future reference, black is almost always ground (-) and red is almost always positive, (+). Such is the case with this battery.

Custom N64 Paintjob
So I still have the case (in quite excellent condition) from the n64 my mobo is from. I was thinking of giving it a really nice and sleek black/blue paintjob, make it look really nice, and sell it for a little bit of $ toward my portable. I was wondering how much $ I could expect to get for a case l...

Re: N64 Charging
Mario, the n64, screen, and regulator are connected to the switch right, but they shouldn't also be connected to the batteries, that's what the switch does.

Grond and - are, for most intents and purposes, the same thing. Post pictures of the wires/screen and we can identify them.

I realize you can hold it, but it sorta looks like you'll be angling your thumbs down weirdly to reach the joystick...

Re: My Ps2p Case and how I made it!
The only potential problem I see is holding angles: When you hold a ps controller, your thumbs angle up - there's no place to hold it so your thumbs can angle up comfortably to the joysticks with this configuration.

Evidently. Update: I think I fried my board, I've been working on testing everything, but my hopes aren't particularly high.

Sell Price?
Well, I'm hoping to make a little money of this portable so I can make my next one better, I was wondering if people could post the sale prices/dates/methods of sale of their portables along with pictures and specs so I can know what to expect from mine. Thanks!

Or even just one of them, really - look carefully at the pictures that show both screens, you can see a yellow, possibly composite, cable going into the second screen. http://cgi.ebay.com/Polaroid-PDM-2727M-Portable-DVD-Player-Dual-2-screen-/230559177671?pt=DVD_Players_Recorders&hash=item35ae65dbc7"...

Re: My first portable
Alright, started taking a look at that regulator with my brand new multimeter - I measured 3.09V coming off it, which I'm hoping isn't enough and that's why my n64 isn't working. Is that the case, and is 3.09V sufficient to drive an n64?
