Progress! Woot! Though not nearly as fast as I had hoped, I'm still making good time on this XD Finished up all 3 of the A/V buttons...not too shabby! http://imageshack.us/a/img26/3686/dc45e.jpg Got the hole for the power switch and the VGA/Composite mode switch cut out... http://imageshack.us/a/img...

Re: Projekt Kodachi!!! (DC portable)
And back to business! Once the screwed up hole was fully filled in, I decided to work on something else for a bit...so I got the Analog stick/Dpad part plastic welded in.. http://imageshack.us/a/img191/181/dc39.jpg ...and once that was fully hardened, I applied much in the way of some putty type act...

Re: Projekt Kodachi!!! (DC portable)
Update! Plastic-welded the ABC/XYZ buttons into the case....not sure how this will turn out though. It's nice and solid, and sands down well enough. But I can't shake the feeling that this is going to look terrible once it's painted--even after I sand it down to the limit. http://imageshack.us/a/img...

Re: Need help with Dreamcast portable
It supplies the juice, what else lol.
As for it's usefulness in portables, don't even bother with it. It's far too large and far too heavy to be worth anyone's time. There are vastly superior devices out there to supply the regulated voltage needed.

Re: Projekt Kodachi!!! (DC portable)
Update time! Well, I got my much needed equipment for the vac table...and the work commenced that night for once :) Got my case halves pulled out and cut down to um...near perfection. The case isn't all that great since it wasn't really designed to be used like this, but it works good enough  h...

Projekt Kodachi!!! (DC portable)
Ok, so I'm finally getting this darn build thread up.....This should be lengthy........ Oh, and for those who don't know, the DC's original development name (also the name written on its mobo) is Katana (a samurai sword). I figured it'd be appropriate if I were to name this smaller portable version ...

Re: PS1 Portable Screen Help!
Well shoot, I dunno then. A multimeter would certainly be of some good use now, if only just to check if the 7805s are actually getting power, or putting out power...

Re: psone screen just has white
Sounds like it's not getting enough power. Try running more juice through it.

Hm. No sound either eh?
Start checking traces and making sure the connectors aren't corroded or anything. If you have a multimeter, start poking!

Re: PS1 Portable Screen Help!
It's possible the cathode backlight is burned out. I've purchased several 'broken' screens that had that problem and fixed them right up by doing the staple LED mod. Try powering up the system and taking a close look at the screen while it's running. With the light at the right angle, you should be ...

Re: Looking for a Nintendo NES power supply replacement
Just about anything that can supply at least 9 volts at 900 mAh or more will work for it. Just make sure your leads are right!

It'll run the DC without much trouble...though it's pretty large lol.
