Re: Ebay copyright infringement claim abuse by Nintendo and Sega
Neat project low_budget. Sadly this is because ebay doesn't give a whit about whether or not the claim is valid. It's just easier for them to pull the auction and not much monetary loss for them. You can always sell direct like I do, just set up a Paypal button. You can still get ripped off in theor...

Re: Cart emulator progress thread
Hello 64drive followers/owners/creator. Are there any news on future updates? Cheat code support? Better MP3 player? Instructions on how to encode videos for this cart? I am working on firmware 2.00 right now. It is a complete rewrite from the ground up, addressing many of the very small but still ...

Re: VGA output via fpga
Well it didn't make it to MGC.. I worked hardcore on it the preceding 2 days and found out my DDR bga setup was working great, and that part was OK, save for a few edge case bugs in my controller.

Re: VGA output via fpga
I would be really surprised if it wasn't done by then. It's just that I have had other more pressing work take priority (actual deadlines, etc)jdmlight wrote:I'm super-excited that you're still working on this. Think you might have a demo ready for MGC?

Re: Cart emulator progress thread
I got my 64drive on Saturday and I'm very happy with it. It would be nice to have some HW documentation tho - what does that pal/ ntsc jumper do etc.? One question I've got is that I ordered one without a CIC chip. If I solder in the CIC from a copy of Jet Force Gemini will it work with all roms? (...

Re: VGA output via fpga
Swapped out the old board for this one. It seems to power up OK and respond to jtag queries.
I still need to write more code to actually run the thing.

Re: VGA output via fpga
Just curious, but how difficult would it be to modify this for other consoles with RGB output (or RGB-mods)? In particular, I'm thinking of the SNES, but in general terms which, if any, other systems might be possible? I'm assuming it is heavily dependant on output resolution and framerate, but con...

I have a bunch of contract work so I will not be able to get this going for a while yet. But the pcb looks nice.

Re: VGA output via fpga
did you move from QFP to BGA, or the other way around? are you personally reflowing all of your boards? Moving from QFP to BGA on things that make sense. I have a reflow oven so after tweaking the heat profile for the particular board it's really easy http://img528.imageshack.us/img528/3439/udev013...

Currently moving to a single DVI-I connector that'll let you use an adapter to get both VGA and HDMI if you want them

Re: anyone use this screen before?
I have one of those. It takes 12v in and has a 5v switching regulator to bring it down (so you could run it straight off 5v if you wanted) The analog to digital conversion is horrible - washed out colors, line crawling, bad whites. My board died after running for 10mins. The LCD itself didn't look b...
