black triangle on early model trinitron
When I play my older video games on my ~1987 sony trinitron (which works fine for N64 games and most TV channels) in the top right corner there is a sliver of screen space that doesn't display anything. Interestingly enough, this sliver seems to deform the picture in that area (its as if the picture...

Re: Issue powering on SNES system
You can try to put a small piece of metal in its place (e.g. part of a paper clip) but you're better off replacing the connector

Re: My modified av famicom (s-video, rgb, bassy stereo sound)
That's beautiful, great job. I have a question though. I notice that on the upper right corner of the screenshots (it's most apparent in the one with the building) the picture seems to curve away from the edge of the screen. This happens on my television too, albeit more dramatically. It seems to ha...

Linux Server Bus Error Meltdown. HELP
So, due to use of my ubuntu server as a dumping ground for files, my main hard drive (500GB) is now full. When it was filled, the terminal warned me of a bus error. In response to this i attempted to move my files from the 500GB drive to a 2TB drive I also have installed. I couldn't move or delete a...

Re: A better Dreamcast controller
HAHAHAH I guess you don't like the weird-ass trident shape? I always found it funny how most people loathe the N64 controller. Personally I never found the n64 controller to be uncomfortable, and after reading the side art on the controller box I kind of see what Nintendo was attempting to do (suppo...

Re: Dalek
It's absolutely possible to build something like that. It could be done with Remote controlled operation (larger motors than an RC car of course) and a small camcorder (like a flip cam) in the eye stalk.

Re: A better Dreamcast controller
I honestly never thought of this. I never found the dreamcast controller to be particularly uncomfortable, but my time playing one has been rather limited. I may attempt this project simply because its so different from anything else I've seen/done. A question: would the buttons and the control stic...

Hey guys, I know it's been more than a year since anyone's written anything in this thread, but the modding showcase link directs me to an internal server error (500) page.
