Re: good NES four-player games?
Bomberman II, the best bomberman on the NES. Gauntlet II is a blast too. Indy heat, on the other hand, stinks. Don't bother.

Re: Nintendo SuperBoy Rev2!
What do you use for your case? Where did you source it from? I am interested in picking something like that up for a project of my own.

Re: PCB problem
I purchased a pcb for Marvel vs. Capcom a while back and just recently got a Jamma cabinet to stick it in. The problem is that when I boot the game up, I've noticed a myriad of lines throughout gameplay. The lines only seem to appear on static images such as the background and not animated sprites....

Yes, I couldn't have done it without you, that's for sure. We should team up to bring random absurdity wherever we go! ...and this thread is being rapidly hijacked.

Wow. Just... wow. Didn't know I could inspire that level of insanity in people. Going to have to try it more often me thinks.

Re: Anyone got an easy project for me to start out on?
My dad (an engineer by trade) always told me as a wee lad whenever I would want to build something or program on the computer "Build some sandcastles before you build a skyscraper." So go with some simple projects first, or just practice taking things apart and putting them back together again. Lear...

Re: Best laptop
Radeon Xpress 200m: avoid it like plague. It's the crappiest ATI chipset out there. Doesn't even support OpenGL 2.0, which royally sucks. I mean, why in the heck NOT? And it runs like a piece of junk in Linux.

Re: NEW 72-pin connectors (sharing info)
The overpacking is due to the fact that most orders through places like that are pretty large, and they won't spend extra for smaller than average boxes. The plastic tube, AFAIK, is industry standard for shipping parts like that in large quantities. Institutions like the tube because automatic PCB s...

Re: Nes games and alcohol?
Well, depends on your alcohol content. Most drug-store rubbing alcohol does have water as well as other chemicals. It can leave behind a white residue which you may not be able to notice but your NES will eventually be affected by it. The water content does make it slightly conductive when wet. To b...

Re: My consolized MVS Project thread!
I'll try and dig up some links. Right now I would suggest you check places like Mouser, but I can dig for you if you can wait a bit. Actually, I got mine by ripping them out of old IBM joysticks. Go to the thrift store and find IBM joysticks with metal DB-15's on the end and very carefully cut them ...

Re: My consolized MVS Project thread!
Cool idea. If you want to have a nice and cheap RGB to NTSC encoder that has composite and S-Video, go and get yourself a NeoBitz-S, which comes as a kit and costs $35. Also, I am beginning a stereo mod to my MV-1B, so I'll keep you posted how that goes. Once modded you don't need +12v. Also, consid...

I talked to Spark at the MGC, and we got it all sorted out, he's using a JROK now and it seems to work very nicely.

Re: The Benheck.com Experience at Midwest Gaming Classic 2009
maybe i'll stock up and buy pocky in bulk and sell that. hah. No, RAMUNE. You must do this. Actually, if you know where to look it's cheap. Try the little Asian grocery stores you see in bigger towns. I live near one in Minneapolis and they sell them quite cheaply. I don't remember what user bought...

Don't have my pics up yet but I'm working on it. Don't feel bad though, I didn't really get any of our booth! Doh! Just some pics of the other areas, like the arcade hall and some other neat stuff like the XBox development unit, which looks like a beige PC case with XBox painted on the side in a str...

Re: MGC 2009 [Now Taking Reservations, BH Suite List Added]
I'll bring my tools if you like, I have a nice 30 watt weller iron and all kinds of tools, and since I'm driving it's all cool. But I am at the Olympia, so you can use 'em at the booth. I'll be getting in late on Saturday and at the show for Sunday only.
