Re: Finished : Hailrazer's 3rd N64 Portable -- Kamikaze Clone

Looks AWESOME! just a few questions though. 1. Since the power switch is a standard two way power switch, does that mean that left = off and wall power (unplug wall adapter to turn it off) and right = battery power? 2. What are those orangey brown platforms that the buttons rest on? Do they come wit...

Looken sexy hail, what do you use for the orange platform behind the buttons? I'm assuming you cemented in the frame for the buttons which is how you got the screws in there.

Re: Hailrazer's 3rd N64 Portable --- The Kamikaze Clone

looken sexy hail, why are there two player 3/4 ports? Symmetry. It looked stupid with the other two ports in there facing the other direction. You know since the first two lean right and the other two lean left. Oh yea thats right, cool. So by now the final coat of paint should be hard as a rock an...

Re: Hailrazer's 3rd N64 Portable --- The Kamikaze Clone

Looken sexy hail, I couldn't find a lowes near by so I'll have to improvise a little while fixing my drum set, I got some bondo where you mix the two parts and it hardens but while I'm drumming it puts a lot of stress on the bondo and eventually it will bread so I'll back it up with some metal L bra...

Oh, ok but do you still wire each resistor to the little power supply on the back of the board giving the 5 volts?

Ok I know how to led mod now but the guide I used said that you need a 20 ohm resistor for 3 leds, what value of resistor will I need for a 4 led mod?

Re: Carmany's Progress

That actually helps a lot, but what I want to do is attach wires this way: http://i245.photobucket.com/albums/gg47/socallans/chasewire.jpg Is there any problems with the attachment still being there? or do I need to remove it? You can use the attachment but it's not recommended because there are so...

Re: Hailrazer's 3rd N64 Portable --- The Kamikaze Clone

it's a bit more complicated than that :o to play off batteries, you have the switch in one direction for battery power. to charge it, put it into wall power or off mode and play with wall power or with no power.(off) I know that, its just I've tried charging the system while it was on battery power...

Re: Hailrazer's 3rd N64 Portable --- The Kamikaze Clone

Got the third paint coat on. One more to go and it will be perfect. All that's left is to wire it up and make the breakout/controller box. Should be able to wrap it up by next weekend. ( I let the final paint coat dry 1 week before putting in parts so I don't flux it up). Sounds awesome hail, this ...

Re: help noob

Ok, this is how you led mod a psone screen (assuming you've already taken the screen from its case) you will need 4x 3mm leds (nothing bigger will fit) and a 10 ohm resistor: 1. flip the screen over and open the locking flap that holds the ribbon cable to the board 2. using a flat head screw driver ...

Re: Hailrazer's 3rd N64 Portable --- The Kamikaze Clone

looking sexy hail I got a question about the charging of the unit though, can you only charge the unit while its off? or can you charge the unit while its running off wall power? (I assume you can't charge the unit while its running off the batteries because the charger can't produce enough amperage...

Re: Hailrazer's 3rd N64 Portable --- The Kamikaze Clone

Yea don't worry too much about the internal hard wired memory card hail, if you can make it work great but if not just forgo the built in memory and don't bother with including the memory card slot on the back of the unit like the original kamikaze 64. I'll just use an external controller for the ga...
