Anything that connects to your USB port has to have a USB chip on it.

Re: John's FS Thread! *MGC Delivery Available*

You were looking at Express Mail International; Priority is $10 less, and it's less than that if it fits in any flat rate boxes. And if you send it UPS, he'll be charged customs clearance fees when it's delivered.

Re: MGC 2011 thread!

I wish I could go, but I have solo & ensemble on the 25th (my group made it to states). I'll probably also have to work on the robot (robotics team) on saturday.

Re: Resistors

It doesn't matter what type they are, as long as you got about the correct resistance. The ones that you got are carbon composition, probably manufactured by ohmite. Those are one of the oldest types of "modern" resistors, and ohmite has been around forever. Those will be fine. For most applications...

I have an extra one, but I'm not in the area. I can check on the weight and let you know how much shipping will cost.

Still got it; there's one broken part that I want to fix/replace before sending it back out.

Re: Taking apart a CRT?

I've taken apart two with my friend. One had a broken CRT, and the other worked fine. We mounted the good CRT with all the other internals in out MAME cabinet. I shorted the leads on the capacitors and such, but actually so no sparks. Before opening it, the best thing to probably do would be unplug ...

Yes; having one huge box would get to cost too much in shipping charges (especially to Canada).

Re: The Official Ben Heck TGIMBOEJ Thread... Attempt #3 Sign Up!

And it arrived today. It was very well packed and pretty fast for parcel post, too. I'm going to put a few of the fragile parts into bags and small boxes, and maybe split this up into two boxes.

Anybody wanting the box a second time is welcome to sign up now.

Re: Voltage regulator question

they will stop providing free samples at all if you all abuse the privilege. It is slightly abusing it, but not bad if you just order a few samples. They have, and will have the samples available so big (or small) companies that may be using many of these in the production of something can order th...

Re: The Official Ben Heck TGIMBOEJ Thread... Attempt #3 Sign Up!

Nevermind, if you come to Canada, pass it on to me. I've wanted a try at this, but its tricky going from US to Canada, and then back to US. (Expensive?) it's already going to kingpin in Canada, so I can include it then, then maybe have you ship/give it to my friend in Brampton so I can pick it up w...

Re: The Official Ben Heck TGIMBOEJ Thread... Attempt #3 Sign Up!

Great

edit: I'm considering moving myself down the list (and maybe kingpin if he doesn't mind), because I'm going to be going to Toronto in a few months, and will be able to ship it from there.

I think we'll also be able to start allowing repeats for anybody wanting the box again.
