i had this problem awile back. Just make sure that the ribbon cables are in the female end COMPLETEY. Then make sure the small cable on the laser arm is in properly. If this doesnt work, then maybe get a new laser arm off ebay.

thanks!!! i took the heatsink out, one to reduce weight, and two to put an internal battery in. I put 2 small radioshck fans in right on top of the EEngine and let it sit for 4 hours, and it stayed a nice warm temp. Seems to be working fine, but i have no heatsink, and im thinking about buying those...

PS2M Motherboard Fried- Cooling Problem

my PS2 Portable has been subject to overheating, a costly problem which unfortunetly has gone off of the list of priorities, and now that school is getting out i plan on getting my 4th MOBO of the V5 PS2. I have pics that show the unit working with a modded board, and that has the RGB fix for the LC...

I had to buy ANOTHER* motherboard v5. This time i actually figured it out. I desoldered the pins on my last 2 boards and that's what the problem was. I just removed the plastic that hold the pins together and re-inserted them into the small connector and bent them backwards. This way the bottom of t...

PS2 Voltage Ratings

What's the max voltage on an old PS2 board? I know it uses 12V, but how much higher can it go? Up to 14.8V?

There seems to be a problem with my RGB fix, i did the fix, loaded up some pics of DVD in RGB, then in order to "slimline" the motherboard, i desoldered the A/V OUT, and replaced the old female connector with the one from the PSOne board. The pins match, so audio, video and sync all match perfectly-...

Well, percentages DONT always make sense. For instance, it's 80% because all i need is one part -battery- which is 5%, then the remaining 15% is work and finishing touches. Oh, and cowquacker- thanks for the thunderous applause- it's worthy of Zeus.

Just open it up, keep track of all the scwres, CAREFULLY move the parts- there are fragile ribbon cables- and disconnect the cables from the DVD drive. Just get to the motherbo...

thanks. as for the motherboar, its the original. i desoldered the USB, Digital Out Optical, the iLINK and those power pins off the board, so that way it's flat on the bottom. I took the metal tray and only left what i needed. As for the case-thats the hard part. I cut the middle section out, but pro...

Thought so, now how would i wire it up? Segasonicfan could explain this to me. I would like to have 4 speakers in the case, because it doesnt look good if theres no speaker grills on the side, so i decided to use 4 speakers.
