Re: Should I start a GC portable summer project?

You might want to check out the stickies a bit first, as well as other people's projects to get some ideas. If you do have the entire summer, then try a NES first. They sell tons of clones that will suffice for a NESp on Amazon and ebay. You can get some screens from places like dealextreme, and mis...

Re: Gamecube protable project worklog.

Nice work, also working on a GCp. Rewiring the DD pcb is really annoying, huh? Not to be nit-picky, but could you please reduce the resolution of your pics? Most of us don't have super uber monitors (like me, with 1024 x 600). Another alternative is imageshack, so you can show a clickable thumbnail ...

Re: Portable-making contest again?

I hope we show the top ten winners this time instead of just the top three, maybe then we can see how noobs (like me) will place in the comp. Even better, would be to show the rankings of everybody! Since there will only be about 30 portables in the end.

EDIT: Fixed my crappy grammar.

Re: Gamecube Portable

Two or three things I would like to mention to you: As far as powering the cube off of 7.2v, you need to take into account what Skyone measured since the 12v line controls the audio, with 5v a cube may sound awful, but with 7.2v it may sound fine. SS I thought that in your video the sound was sligh...

Yeah, I hate it when those jerks are sleeping or working at their jobs.
You seem to be on here pretty often, though, so next time I'll make sure to tell you first.

Awesome work. Is this your first time modding stuff? I've just started messing around (and epically failing) with a Gamecube.

Yeah, Angelina Jolie and Donald Trump's wife I think... I dunno, I had just finished reading Demonofaj's thread about the George Forman Grill, and thought it was something similar. Boy, was I wrong. I PM'ed a few mods, but nobody did anything for a couple of hours.

Brickboy Worklog

Sigh... well, I started to get pretty far. I soldering the screen into the gamecube's 12v supply with a 7808, and must have screwed it up. Nothing powered on. I desoldered all my stuff and tested the cube, and... no juice. Can't see what I did wrong, so I just got a cheapie working cube (Rev A...

Yes. 9v from power supply goes to +9v on the mobo, and connect the negative spot on the power supply to ground on the mobo.

Re: Gamecube Portable

Okay, Eurdrue... you're right. The cube won't start up right. It keeps telling me theres an error and I need to reset. I'm certain it's the disk drive wiring, so I'm gonna go ahead and desolder all 32 wires.

I'm hoping I'll have this done right by tomorrow night.
