Re: FC3plus SNES/NES/Genesis in one?

Interesting. I like the idea myself. As far as portablizing goes, there's one big issue. Unless you keep the cartridge slots pointing downward (basically putting the screen on what is now the bottom of the unit), I don't know to where you would move them. If you tried to make a gameboy-style portabl...

Re: Circuit City closing sales - what deals did YOU get?

Nice idea with the card slot, if practical. Old logo would be far nicer to hold, a more sensible shape and more identifiable. When I was a kid I watched Batman and Robin (the original caped crusaders), that was their logo at the time. Don't like the Frisbee look, much prefer just the logo. The scre...

Re: Wii motherboard measurements

I tried finding the dimensions online myself, but to no avail. If it helps, the pictures of the Wii motherboard almost entirely fill the case: http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2007/01/mb_desc_engadget_howto.jpg One other thing I've used in the past: use known dimensions to figure out un...

Re: Circuit City closing sales - what deals did YOU get?

Thanks for pic, however, if I make this, the shape would need to be more like http://imagehost.rabidusmaximus.com/uploads/40488e7f7062a859a9f576575724c098.gif and would be the internal bat only not with an oval or round surround; also would need to be small so the screen looks large and the sides n...

Re: Could I and how would I make something like this?

Thanks, I'll keep it in mind if I raise my budget, but for now Im looking to keep as low a budget as possible. In that case, I would recommend looking for a laptop with a busted screen on eBay. It'd be dirt cheap, and a laptop within the last 5 years should be able to handle PS1 and N64 emulation. ...

Re: Could I and how would I make something like this?

Getting back to your original question, I actually did something like this (not yet complete). I used a mini-itx motherboard (less than 7 inches square, about 1.5 inches in height). They have built-in processors and composite out. I also used a discrete graphics card (N64 and PS1 emulation requires ...

Re: LCD DVD player screen

ya, but the thing is, i dont know where any of those connections are Now that you have posted the larger pictures, people (who know more about this kind of thing than we do) will be able to pick them out. How did the DVD player know whether to use video in or video out? If it was a switch or button...

Re: WTTF?WTB Nintendo Powergloves (yes plural)

I tried to find out for sure.

Some people say they were left-handed ones, but even if they were, they would be very very rare. You'd be better off modding a rightie to work on the left hand.

You could do it even cheaper if you just made your own look like power gloves.

Re: LCD DVD player screen

You'll need to bridge the connection to set it to "always select input." Other than that, sounds good.

Re: Will this 4.5" screen work?

I very much doubt it. I don't see any composite input. Without that, you might as well forget about it.

Larger pictures would help, though.

Also, don't try to do a Gamecube portable for your first project. It's very difficult.

I don't support it wholeheartedly Which means, "It bothers me, but that doesn't stop me from doing it." it's not like I go out of my way to steal Translates to, "I don't steal for a living." I just needed some earbuds Which is why you stole them... they were in a bin in the back of the store Does n...

quick MS Paint mockup: http://www.geocities.com/eagle5953/unrelated/benheck/batman_portable.png Not very familiar with the Turbographx, so I apologize for any blatent errors. Another thought: if you are vacuum-forming the case, it would be fairly easy to have the black bat shape raised a bit from th...
