Re: save my desktop

if there's important information on there: safe mode, uninstall all irrelevant programs. install AV and get the virus, or at the very least get the computer to a point you can transfer your data.

if there's not important information on there: format it. reinstall whatever.

Re: Cooling an NES PC...

I'm not sure the onboard graphics would be able to handle HD video. It looks like it should, a fast CPU should make up for the GPU. This page shows it playing bluray, not sure what CPU they're using, though. yanno I've been looking for a comparison with explicit data points like that. Thank you. Th...

Re: Cooling an NES PC...

The CPU has a passive heatsink. The fan is for the chipset. I have one of those boards (for my NES PC), and it runs extremely cool. I would suggest that you try it without fans before buying any. Because of the memory speed supported by the mobo, it would be a waste of money to buy performance memo...

I've never played with garry's mod but I suspect that you can get lua to do everything you require.

Cooling an NES PC...

fans? definitely. cut holes in the slots on the case? of course. Due to the limited space I was thinking about a thermoelectric unit but I'm concerned about power consumption. Parts: Hard Drive MotherBoard BluRay CPU Power Supply Fans (2) RAM (2) I calculated 115 W for all of this. The PSU is 150W. ...

Re: Making My Computer Faster?

when screenshotting message boxes, use [ALT] + [Print Scrn] - only captures the active window. that's your cool new trick for the day. now open up your knowledge basket because here it comes: buy a new case. buy a motherboard for that case. something that fits what you want. once you have the mobo b...

Re: Project 1 - Combitron *WARNING - 56k users - large pictures*

I just came across this project. It looks like it has some great potential - looking forward to more! Thanks Brian! You are one of the main reasons I decided to join the 'modding scene'. I watched a few of your vids on youtube showing a modded NES/SNES system(s). I remembered that I had an NES from...

Re: Coming Soon NES-PC Build Log

Would anyone think it could possibly heat up to the point where I may need some extra fans pulling some hot air out? I mean the PicoPSU doesn't create barely any heat, and well I can't say much about the processor as they have a small heatsink w/ fan addressing any issue with the processor's heat. ...
