Rymel's Handheld PS2

this thread is a lead-on from this one originally: http://forums.benheck.com/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=42180 sup guys, another PS2 project here. i'm sticking with a generic title because there's no catchy acronym that pops up in my head that doesn't simultaneously sound lame to me. here's the goals: -firs...

Re: My PS2 Portable

how's the load times on usb? for the batteries you could add up what you need and use lithium polymer batteries from batteryspace.com

Re: Vizio 7" LED TV teardown

out of curiosity i put the tv back together and toyed with the front touch controls since i can't make it to a plastics shop in time today. that white strip that's glued to the lcd's metal frame is necessary for it to function. i'm guessing it's static-sensitive tape of some sort, but i'd like someo...

Re: Vizio 7" LED TV teardown

It is rather tiny, especially if you omit the batteries I may be keeping to augment overall power storage since they're so thin. I don't have a physical point of reference but it's a hot-off-the-assembly-line item so it's really the best you're gonna get for the form factor no matter what, IMO. I DO...

Vizio 7" LED TV teardown

hey guys, thought i'd start a new post since the other title was kind of retarded after i'd bought one. i'm gonna paste over the first picture post, and continue from there: as promised, pics, and a video http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w227/Rymelz/Portable%20PS2%20Project/THE%20SCREEN/IMG_1161.j...

Re: thought you guys should know about these

i'm not sure if it's just my local costco or not, but i found the 7" tv for $99 after $20 mfg instant rebate. needless to say i grabbed the thing (after i made the guy grab the demo tv's box to explain how you plug in RCAs since it lacked the jacks). i'll post pics tomorrow when i get home from work...

Re: thought you guys should know about these

you're right, i never have! never got the chance to compare when i was a kid lol. but i won't be able to choose between them anyway because i just got my reply back from vizio and they have no ETA on the 9" and 10" models :( it is very good to know what you've found out though, makes me a smarter co...

Re: thought you guys should know about these

that's exactly the box i'm trying to avoid using. component is nice and all, but it's pricey for questionable value of upscale. plus it's a PS2, i'm sure i won't miss the slight different component made on that system. but i guess i'll make that call when they actually release the larger size tvs. i...

thought you guys should know about these

imo, these are the single best thing to come out for portable systems designers for...well, ever, if you don't count 'slim' system rereleases :P http://www.vizio.com/news/cat/press/post/VIZIOEntersEmergingMobileTVMarketwithIntroductionofThreeRazorLEDSets i realize the news came out last month, but i...

i didn't bother replying since my question for help was pretty much met with "don't bother you can't do it" (which to me seems like its very much the opposite of what this forum is for, but hey what do i know about help and community?), but since i got a notification for an update, useless or not, i...

seems i cut that out of the original post. i'm aware that they'd probably need a host, so i was considering a microprocessor, which is generally the way to go in modchip design and the gamecube disc drive to hdd interface. but would an external hdd with usb on-the-go work, since it's technically a u...

http://www.tehskeen.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6040 it's not out yet, but they're saying soon. they had a thread prior to this showing the board they were developing but that used micro sd cards which is overall impractical, cool as it might be to have a wallet of micro sdhc cards rather than dvd-...

care to elaborate on that? is it an issue of translating back to serial? give me something here other than that wonderfully detailed answer please.
