It will force Portal to run in DirectX 8 mode, which can help with your frame rate.
Is there a way to force DX9 SM2?
If it also uses steam, yes.

Re: Dual WLOG| The NWES and the NESPSP

You can get a PSP with a broken UMD drive for under $60 shipped pretty easily. or if you know a lot of stupid people you can get a psp with a broken analog stick for 40 dollars like I did. Mine even game with games and a movie. I'll look around. I know I can get a perfectly good one for 100 at stor...

Re: Any tips or tutorials on how to mount a clear jewel on a GC?

Mine was bought when it was bundled with Zelda's Collector's Edition, and it still has the Digital AV out port, meaning I have the cable for 480P(Bought it for 8 bucks at local game store!) Wow, you got an awesome deal! They were like $50 new, and now they go for something like $80 on eBay! Mine's ...

I know this is a really lame question, but what is the difference between normal wire and kylar(kynar?) wires? SS Kynar wire is very fine, kind of like each line from an IDE cable, except maybe thiner, not to sure. I haven't bought wire yet at all cept for IDE cable I salvage form computers. Genera...

Where. I got a good UMD drive when I bought the two cases. Might build one, then paint then sell (what I currently do for cash right now)

Re: Dual WLOG| The NWES and the NESPSP

You should custom-firmware your PSP and just paint it using that colour scheme. Then you can just use emulators on it. I don't have a PSP though. I just bought excess parts form this one guy. It's missing the other half of the psp's mobo and then some. I have enough parts to build two complete psp ...

This means the game will run fine on the lowest graphic settings.. Anything higher and you might run into lag.

Re: Any tips or tutorials on how to mount a clear jewel on a GC?

Well, what appears to be a jewel is actualy just a sticker. Peel it off, it makes a good template for later. I cut out the remaining plastic w/a dremel, then sanded down the edges. Using acrylic, I scored a circle the exact size of the sticker, and then had to sand it down a lot to get it to fit. O...

Re: desoldering factory pcbs

Desoldering braid. Actually I just use a sucker, but it would a PITA to do that many pins. Solder Sucker-good for not-so-many pins, good for large pins Solder Braid-good for small joints. Okay. I'll go buy some tomorrow. I should then have enough parts to make three pin connectors. I've already ben...

Re: Bacteria project: N64³ - ...dead...

Made an interesting discovery today - kynar wire is utter crap. I wired my TurboGrafx cart pins using kynar wire to the chip pins, turned system on, nothing. Cut the wires off the cart slot and wired using longer 4" general wires to the pins; worked perfectly. That proves my kynar wires were proper...
