The source is an ipod universal dock (apple) with an ipod av cable (apple) i thought the cable was shielded, i guess i am wrong.

Nichrome wire thats the one. Although it seems odd that you can connect A/C curent to a bit of wire safely, but you can nichrom has an extremely high resistance making it an excellent load

There are some solder pads on the lower back side of the PSone screen, which are easier to solder to if you don't want to solder to the ribbon cable connector.

but heres the issue, my libraries stopped working (no songs can be located) and if i plug my ipod in it formats it! can i switch it no manual without this happening? any help would be greatly appreciated!
