Re: My first portable

Alright, I now have pictures (As high res as before, but with an annoying flash glare this time) I'd like an opinion - do you think it'll work or not? I'd rather not cut up my ps1 controller yet, as I'm having fun with an emulator and the controller playing through some n64 games as I build my n64. ...

Re: The Ion64 Worklog!

What are the specs of the potentiometer you're using, and where is it hooked to the speakers? Is it right before the speakers, or is it a part of the amp circuit, or what?

Re: My first portable

OK, new problem (That's all this portable seems to be...) is the controller. I heard something about not being able to use an original n64 controller unless you wanted to be stuck with the original joystick because it isn't like normal joysticks. I bought a ripoff brand controller, a clone (more or ...

Re: My first portable

I'm thinking I'm going to use lucidperspective's method with IDE cable and a header - question, would this IDE cable work? (Can I move the connector so I'm not using 18" of cable, but just 6 instead?) http://cgi.ebay.com/IDC-50-x-2-18-inch-Single-Device-/140409639483?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2...

Re: My first portable

Alright, pictures: When measuring a few of the connections with a multimeter, several of them had no resistance at all between them - only 1 pair was right next to eachother, though. Are any of the pins supposed to have a complete connection? http://i235.photobucket.com/albums/ee216/Snipeye/IMG_0508...

Re: Psone Scree: Weird Tint

Does touching it with the screwdriver still correct the colors?

Pics and vid, please - they would help a lot.

Re: My first portable

Hey, I wired everything up, it's finally looking good - I plugged it into the TV (Screen isn't here yet) and turned it on... a white line flashed across the screen, then nothing. I think I might have screwed up the cartridge relocation, and I was wondering if anybody had an eagle file or picture of ...

Re: Where do I connect LED's - (Vent lighting)

Measure around with a multimeter, looking for a 3.3v supply - there is a pin onthe back labeled 3.3v, solder from there to ground.

Re: My first portable

:/

I'd rather avoid using the N64's 7805 regulator, 'cause it's rather inefficient. I'll keep looking around, maybe I could just buy fans that run at lower voltages.

Re: My first portable

Well, the pth should get here tomorrow - I have another issue. I bought a little, thin 40mm fan to help cool the system, it draws roughly 80 mA at 7.4v, but it runs really slowly at 7.4v, and the air output is negligable. I was wondering if there are any free samples I could request from TI that are...

Re: Help me figure out the composite input on this screen

Bottom line: We need the highest resolution, biggest picture you can get of the entire screen/circuit board so we can see where everything connects. Without that, we can't help you.
