Re: Which Antivirus Software do you use ? Why?

If you can't go online 5 minutes with Windows without getting a virus, you're doing something wrong (or already picked up an infection). Desktop Linux is not a 1:1 replacement for Windows/OSX. It's buggy, the UI is inconsistent (any given program could be written for any one of a dozen widget...

Re: Which Antivirus Software do you use ? Why?

Doesn't make a difference when both have their resident shields running simultaneously. Norton is system-bogging garbage anyway. I don't see how installing and dealing with a pain-in-the-butt OS built around 30 year old in-jokes and fighting is easier than just uninstalling Norton... Especial...

Re: Which Antivirus Software do you use ? Why?

Don't run two antivirus programs at the same time. They just fight each other. Uninstall Norton or replace both with a free one like AntiVir or AVG and I guarantee you your PC will run properly again. Windows isn't causing the slowdown, it's all the garbage the OEMs load it up with. Thanks and I th...

Yes, any wire will do, and it doesn't matter what the wire is like as long as it is metal and relatively think I'd say like at least 0.5cm thick.

Re: DS Controller Case Mod

It sounds great dude! Yeah, I'm not sure how you could make use of the analogue sticks, but I'm sure there are things to do with them! What I was gonna suggest is perhaps if you get some hinges and i dunno... a small top case, similar to the DS's top screen holder then you could attach the hinges an...

Re: Google Problems

This may sound stupid, but go to firefox.com go to the apps and download the Add-blocker Plus. If that doesn't work then download Google chrome, it has a few compatibility problems but I'm pretty sure that there are less viruses developed for it. Otherwise... run a virus scan, uninstall Firefox, rei...

Re: Gba: SP Battery problem, HELP!

Firstly, You wanna be a tad more specific, like, how old is it, and also, have you modded it, if so what have you done to it? It may just be the charger cable, perhaps the fuse blown in the charger? or the charger slot in the gba broke? or moved out of place? Once I know those factors, I should be a...

Re: Nintendo 3Ds

If it came out on January 31 that'd be really awesome because it's the day after my birthday! :) Last night I think there was an update at E3, forgive me if I am incorrect. Also Apparently there will be a setting, perhaps a switch to turn the 3D'ness up and down, or on and off :) that sounds pretty ...

Re: Which Antivirus Software do you use ? Why?

I'm Using Norton, as it came with my PC, I can tell you for a fact, though, that I will not be using it when it expires next month, I shat be installing Linux and finding a better, more efficient alternative. I must say though, that the alerts are relatively frequent and a report is published almost...

Re: Need help

Okay, basically, Grounding is completing the circuit, a good example is a pylon, they are the massive poles all over the world which distribute electricity to peoples homes. They usually have big signs near them saying 'DO NOT CLIMB'... For obvious reasons. But every day you look up at them and all ...

Re: LED Game Cartridge

When he says pin 1 and 32, he means the far right and left pins on the cart. when you open it up, one will say GND, one will say VCC so im guessing I solder the wires attached to the LED to the GND (ground?) and the other to the VCC? and do I have to use a resistor? If so, would i have to put one a...

Re: LED Game Cartridge

Hey, Yea you can do this Mod. It looks VERY cool when finished. I think it was Shock Slayer (Known as SS'), who did this. All I know, is that if you open up your game cartridge and find the +5 / +3.3 Volts (Pin 1) and ground (Pin 32), then wire that to a resistor (if 5 Volts) - followed by an LED. ...
