Well the for battery you can call up radioshack and ask if they have a 9.6 v battery and charger. Although its not a great battery but should do just fine.

Desolder the rf box and the expansion slot which is on the other side. Take your time when desoldering the rf box because the huge solder points take so long to remove. And also remove the big cap before it doesn't blow up from the heat. edit: here is the guide if you need it http:...
