PS2 Power / Eject problems
Bought a defect ps2 for a buck. The ribboncable for the power and eject buttons was broken, and the laser needed adjustments. The cable was creased at one of the ends to a degree where one of the lines had broke. So I cut a small bit of to sand it. But I forgot to remove the powercord when I cut the...

Re: What the diff between RGB and WRY?
RGB: Red line Green line Blue line Sync line Composite: Red, Blue, Green and sync cramped all in one line The red and white you are talking about is right and left audio, you'll want this for both connections. It can be compared to the RF connection, that one has all the video and the audio in one l...

Re: Sega Megadrive Model II portable - project worklog
I have a heat-sink on the 7805 now. Had to drill a hole in it because I ruined the holder thing that was on it. But it's there now. Just ran it for a minute on without for the video. But the 7505 on the screens board is a switching regulator, it doesn't get warm. Instead of dispersing the extra volt...

Re: Sega Megadrive Model II portable - project worklog
Just realized that the screens board have a 7505 regulator on it. Want to try and see if I can run the Sega from this one aswell. Don't quite understand how its hooked up though. http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s186/flaxswe88/13643_1297508155994_1179071364_3090.jpg?t=1258501354" onclick="window.o...

A little bit down on the page, where he is soldering some wires. Do you have those solder spots?

Re: dipswhich on sega genesis 2
Never seen one of those in a Genesis. Could it be a blessing from the sega god? A stock region-mod? Do you see any JP1-4 contacts anywhere else on the board? Like this: http://www.mmmonkey.co.uk/console/images/sega/md-jpoints.jpg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Was the first thing tha...

Re: Genesis overclocking problem: What am I doing wrong?
I'm interested in a solution to this as well. I couldn't get a "external" oscillator either, went with the otherone on the motherboard, but as you say, it isn't stable. Think I fried the one I tried with first though. It didn't work so I thought that I had connected it wron, hooked up the un-regulat...

Re: Sega Megadrive Model II portable - project worklog
Got the screen disassembled now. Here are some pics. Sorry for the crappy quality, it was the best I could manage with my crappy phonecamera :( The original backlight bulb. Does all bulb look like this? Looks more like a Fluorescent lamp tube thingy http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s186/flaxswe88/...

Re: Sega Megadrive Model II portable - project worklog
Ripped apart the screen i have. And I'm baffled. The board doesnt look like anything I've seen on the net. The motherboard is squared and maybe 1 cm bigger then the screen on every side. It has 4 smaller boards with controller things on them. 1 board is simply the plug that plugs in to the playstati...

Re: Sega Megadrive Model II portable - project worklog
Set it to 6 cells. If the charger was only supplying 7.2v to the pack, there would be hardly difference in voltage and it would never charge. Use 500mA whenever you can, but it should be fine with 1A if you got a good pack. It's common for RC racers to charge their packs at 3.0-3.5 amps (they also ...

Re: Making A/V cable for sega genesis 2
You're just going with composite right? Yellow - Video Redish/Brown - Right Audio White - Left Audio Black - Ground http://i636.photobucket.com/albums/uu90/zeturi/genesis3pinouts.png" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Should be enough. Are you sure you are looking at it the right way? I ...
