Is this for a portable, or for some other project? In the end either way, it would come down to soldering each contact on the memory card directly to the motherboard. With the motherboard heatsink-up and with the memory card slots nearest you, the pins will be in a nice staggered pattern. Convenient...

Woop! After getting friendly with my multimeter, I've mapped out all the solder points for the controller ports and removed them from their circuit board. This was done very "delicately", and a whole 4 of the 24 contacts stayed in their ports. Yay! I noticed when mapping out the contacts that lower ...

Those of you who care about strangers you meet online will be glad to know I've passed my exams. Woop! This means I've returned to the dolphin. I am about to move the memory card slot (A). Are any of the pins unecessary? Do the shiny metal tabs that go underneath the card need to stay for grounding?...

In reply to a couple of things: Why would it have to be plastic? I imagine it would be easier to work with, and less liable to break, but I think glass would add a sense of quality to the finished product. The project is mainly for the sake of appearance but I don't think it would be true to say the...

I have acquired an extra gamecube (and in fact a third) and I plan to recase it in a spherical fishtank, immersed in mineral oil*.
