You dont need to select the voltage if you arent moving between countries that often. You have the right idea but it sounds like you selected the wrong voltage. If you are on 110v service you probably cant guess wrong, since its probably the lowest possible setting. You most likely selected the wro...

That looks like a voltage switch. It let's you select which mains voltage you'll be using. If you're in the US this is most likely 110 V. Most of Europe is 220 V or 230 V. If you've plugged it in with the wrong setting the fuse is probably blown. It can be found just to the left of the switch. That...
