I picked up all of this today for $40 australian. the screen isnt an official one, and it has no branding on it that i can see. it doesnt have the AV input like the sony one. can it still be used for portables?

it was $5 Australian, there was no charger so i couldn't test it, i thought it just had a flat battery, the case is in better condition than my other one though.

gameboy advance sp wont turn on
i just bought a gba sp at a yard sale. it will not turn on or charge, i have taken the battery out and tested it in another sp and it works fine so the battery is not the problem. what else could be causing the console not to work?

backlighting is very common and relatively easy. google nonfinite, he sells kits, also check out 8bitcollective.org forums.

a mega bump on this, stealth from the sonicretro board made a perfect port of sonic 1 the gba, so it is quite possible to do it for other games, if anyone is willing to take the time that is.
