Re: OBLIVION, Why do you taunt me so?
I have not been using OBSE. I believe the only mods that I have been using are the Unofficial Oblivion Patch and a "Skill Diary" mod that allows me to track how many advancements my skills have had during each level. This past weekend I went and downloaded a different driver or my graphics card, thi...

Re: OBLIVION, Why do you taunt me so?
I don't have that many computer games. Age of Empires 3 runs fine (only ever crashed when I tried turning on the high polygon moodels and high water graphics mid-game while I was on an island map.) I recently went to a LAN party where we were playing Counterstrike Source (using the Half Life 2 engin...

OBLIVION, Why do you taunt me so?
The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Is it possible to play this game without it crashing? I recently got this game, and really enjoy the RPG customization of your character, the wide open world to explore, and how beautiful everything looks. The problem is, whenever I play the game it always crashes. Som...

Re: Overclocking your GBA
I see what you are saying about the other chip being missing. I think that is a voltage regulator, so it is probably in a different location, or replaced with some other components on your board. It doesn't matter that the text is printed in the other direction on your crystal. An oscillator crystal...

Re: Overclocking your GBA
Both the GBA and GBASP use a 4.19 Mhz crystal, so you should be able to perform the mod by using an 8Mhz crystal. Do you have any Photos you could post to show what the crystal looks like, and to give us an idea what you are talking about when you say the smaller chip isn't near the crystal? Most li...

Re: Overclocking your GBA
Overclocking the GBA affects all games that are played on it. Apparently the oscillator crystal is used to provide the clock pulse to both the GBA and the original GB/GBC circuitry.
The same goes for the DS. If you overclock the DS, it speeds up both GBA games and DS games.

Re: my MGB gets blue screen of death...
If the screen doesn't change when you adjust the contrast, and you are sure that there are no problems with the ribbon cable, or how it is connected on both ends, there may be a problem with the circuitry that is connected to the screen (sending bad data), or the screen could be broken. You might wa...

Re: my MGB gets blue screen of death...
What is the picture showing? Is the screen just all black? Can you see anything at all, or are all the pixels the same? Try adjusting the contrast dial. It might have gotten turned all the way up. If that doesn't help, you could try opening it and looking at the screen's ribbon cable to make sure ev...

Re: Broke a GBC - Blown Fuse Maybe?
When you take the back off the GBC, you can see two fuses down at the bottom section, directly above the headphone and power ports. They are the larger black components, with a solder connection on each side. You could use a wire to connect both ends, and that should bypass the fuse if it has blown.

Re: What SNES Item is this?
IIRC, the pinouts for the SNES/Super Famicom, were the same. There was however, a device that allowed you to play both SNES and the 8 bit games on a Super Nes. I think it was called the "double decker" and it was only available in the UK. The small cart slot should be for the famicom games. Some ga...

Re: What SNES Item is this?
According to what I found it is a universal adapter allowing import carts to be played on a PAL SNES. The imports in this case being NTSC and JP. http://www.chronicgames.net/articles/snes-museum.aspx Scroll down a bit on the page and you'll see it.. I would tend to think Bobzilla is right about thi...

Re: GBC over/underclocking
Hello, I was wondering, can I keep the original crystal and put in TWO other crystals? What type of switch/es would I use, and how would I wire it? So I can switch between slow, normal and fast speed. Thanks. If you want to underclock the GBC, you will need to remove the original crystal since the ...

Re: Anybody familiar with this short story?
That movie had very little in common with the book. The book is a huge epic 1000+ page adventure that I would definitely recommend for any Scifi fan.collinE wrote:Thanks, I'll try to scour some of his short stories and see if I find it. Is Battlefield Earth that John Travolta movie? Terrible.

Re: Anybody familiar with this short story?
I remember reading the same story years ago. If I had to take a guess, I would say it may be a short story by Arthur C Clarke. When I first read your description, I thought you were talking about "Battlefield Earth", due to your reference to natives (the main character grew up in a tribe of human su...

Re: GBA SP charging
The GBA SP Charger provides 5.2 volts, and USB ports provide 5 volts. It might be worth trying since there must be some circuitry that regulates the voltage to the 3.6 Volts that the GBA's battery needs. You could temporarily wire a 5V source up to the GBA SP's charger port, and see if that works to...
