Or use an AC adaptor if you can get ahold of one. (Rather certain its the same AC adaptor used with Model 2 Genesis)
And yeah, the screens really do suck.

Re: How should I go about fixing this?
What if I mentioned that the D-Pad functions if I press hard enough? It's looking fine on the inside, too. Opening it was fun, though. Both sarcastically and actually fun (If it weren't for that ribbon cable, this would be so much easier. I hate disconnecting then, always feels so flimsy, y'know?) E...

How should I go about fixing this?
I just got myself a DMG, $6. But it's in pretty bad shape. The D-pad won't press left or down very easily. It's not stuck, it just isn't responsive. What would be the best way to fix this? (I'm nervous about opening it.)

Earlier PS1s had FMV skipping issues because certain parts overheated, something about the way the disc drive was made.bacteria wrote:..which makes sense after all.
I don't think the PSone makes heat either, seems to stay quite cool and the processors on its board don't have heatsinks either.

Y'know, this may sound stupid, but maybe whoever installed the screen accedentally reversed one of the wires?

I, too, have a Game Gear. As well as carrying case, power cable, and various games (at least 10 of them).

Re: LED mod necessary?
It is not truly necessary but very much recommended. It will get you quite a bit more battery life with little effort. As always, in the end, it's up to you. Its not the effort I'm worried about, its how fragile the screen is explained to be. I took a look at the procedure and it seemed like it'd b...

LED mod necessary?
Yet another one of my questions, but I promise this one doesn't answer itself
If I use a hand made SNESp case, ordered from this site, and I have a PS1 screen, is it truely necessary to mod the screen? Would I need to change the case or would power be an issue or what? Help is appreciated.

Re: Modding a front loading NES into a top loading NES
You'll need to get a NORMAL cart slot with 72 pins, maybe steal one off a clone? Or cut the wrong side off of the cartridge connector and use that. Then solder it and mount somehow. ...Therefore, I elected to build my own adapter using a 72 pin card edge connector and wiring it directly to the boar...

Re: Could I get a verification on this?
So even if I made something portable out of this, it would be limited to what's on the ROM. Considering that, for me, versatility is the main idea behind portables, I probably shouldn't waste a screen. Thanks, that's why I ask those kind of questions

Could I get a verification on this?
So I was looking at the project archive, and in Ben's NES/Atari build, he comments that most plug-and-play "joystick games" contain NOACs, even the non-nintendo ones. So I've got one of those Atari TV Games from Jakks Pacific; might the parts inside be adaptable into some form of NES portable? P.S. ...
