I don't agree with their reasoning, but I can understand all of it. I don't agree because, like some kids, I didn't like to run around at recess. I'd rather sit around and think or talk, not run pointlessly. You do that in gym class where it's required. I don't agree with the banning of running/tag,...

and in my workroom i use a 1959 zenith x323 7 tube am/fm radio (sounds AMAZING, huge sound form a tiny radio) I have a Guild New Englander tube radio (with turntable and auxiliary inputs, which I use for my iPod sometimes). I got it from my grandmother's neighbor (who would've had to throw it out i...

What was your first audio system?
I was messing around with my old stereo today, and began to wonder what experiences other people had with audio when they were younger. Several years ago, I asked my dad for a stereo after finding out that one of my friends had one. I expected it to come from an electronics store, not from our basem...

Using liquid nitrogen to cool a computer wouldn't be very effective. After it evaporates, you have to buy more liquid nitrogen. If you really want to be crazy, you could adapt a small refrigerator (NOT a mini-fridge, it has to have a real compressor, not just a peltier cooler) to cool the processor....

I would suggest building one out of junk. Get some junked folding tables (preferably with bad legs!) and remove the whole leg assemblies (including the metal thing that runs about 2 inches inside the perimeter). Cut them to whatever size you need, then use a few filing cabinets to support them. If y...

I've heard good things about Canon's Optura series (the 30 is good, but bad in low light, the 40 is good in low light, but otherwise the same as the 30, and the 50 is the best). They all shoot TRUE widescreen (their CCDs are actually wide), so if you're into that… I also remember some good things ...

I'd love to have a RED ONE , but it's out of my price range. Put quite simply, if the project succeeds, it will be on equal footing with $250,000 HD cameras for only about $30k (that's including the required RAID, lens and other accessories). …and yes. I'm "drunk on the RED juice". Kudos for whoev...

They required expensive adapters for use with DVI ports, and you couldn't fit two ports on one card (so they came with one ADC and one DVI). They made a smart move with the new breakout cables, but they end up making the back of the computer look junky, and because they take up a FireWire port each,...

Actually, no. The Classic had a SuperDrive (SuperDrive = 1.44 MB floppy).
The IIx was the first to have a SuperDrive though.
Any further questions can be answered by Mactracker.

I still don't get why they'd connect an HD-DVD drive with USB… Anyway, I agree with jones that the HD-DVD drive isn't needed if you don't want to watch movies, and if I got the 360, I'd put the money towards a standalone player anyway. Watching DVDs on the PS2 or Xbox isn't pretty or nice, and tho...
