Re: I can't stop talking in my sleep.
If you know that you're dreaming, if you want something to happen, it happens. its not really that simple. its more like you are sitting in a tv control booth (you know, where the guys editing the incoming video sit) you can tell people what to do, and have some freedom of movement, but you are sti...

Re: DTV SWITCHOVER IS NIGH
Do you have a DTV/UHF antenna or are you using rabbit ears? The 'DTV' antennas are designed to pick up the area of the UHF band that the signals are sent on, while rabbit ears do a mediocre job of picking up the entire VHF/UHF spectrum. Even those little bowtie UHF antennas are more suitable than o...

Re: DTV SWITCHOVER IS NIGH
Well I am unimpressed with this. I found my remote and here's what I can watch: Fox (often cuts out because of weak signal) OR* MY20(formerly UPN) *Depending on where I place my antenna This sucks big time. I can't get NBC, ABC, CBS... I basically have two video-game displays in my room now and no w...

Re: DTV SWITCHOVER IS NIGH
I don't know what you get in your area, but everything analog around here has distortion patterns and static all over it. Digital TV is clear as day.

Re: DTV SWITCHOVER IS NIGH
so I checked my TV today and the only analog channel remaining is NBC, but is broadcasting how to switchover. Hugely frustrating problem, though. I can't find the remote to my digital converter box and there is NO other way to interface with it. It is currently off right now so all I can get on my T...

Re: What can I build with 37 dollars a soldering iron etc.
you can't build much with hot-glue alone. You can do projects with a soldering iron, a dremel, and some funds.yoshilime wrote:So he gets away scoot free with a topic similar to mine?

Re: DTV SWITCHOVER IS NIGH
It's finally here, tomorrow at 2pm (unsure of which time zone lol). Time to celebrate our new horde of cheap pocket tvs! Anybody gonna throw a party? Only if NBC makes their way to my digital receiver. I JUST got Conan back on my TV at night and I don't want to lose it because of the damn dig...
Re: Windows 7
Vista is far from being a turd. If you want a turd, look no further than Windows ME. Now that was a shameless money grab on Microsoft's part. Ugh! I ran a slimmed down, minimal install (the os was <400mb IIRC) of windows ME on my lifebook (900mhz p3 256mb of ram) for 2 or 3 years without any signif...

Re: What can I build with 37 dollars a soldering iron etc.
could build an SNES -> PC controller adapter for that. http://www.tolaris.com/snes-to-parallel/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I built a 5-player box a while ago and love it. perfect for emulators.

Re: Windows 7
I think most of the Vista hate is leftover from its launch, when Microsoft shoved it out the door while it was still in the middle of brushing its teeth (to use a horrible analogy). It also needs a lot of memory compared to XP, but honestly that's a non-issue because you can get 4 gig DDR2 800 matc...

hate to backseat moderate, but please use a more descriptive thread title in the future. There are too many "question" "I was wondering..." threads. People want to know the REAL topic of the thread before going into it.

as long as everyone's giving height and weight:
5'5" 135
haven't done much weight-wise in a few years. a steady flow of hockey has kept me at pretty much the same build for awhile.
