Re: Arcade RGB - VGA sync issue

Right now I can say there are some more converters out there, but they are no where near cheap..... http://www.converters.tv/products/vga_to_vga/425.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; That one at least allows you to convert it over 3 different ways in any combination....but I dunno ...

Re: Arcade RGB - VGA sync issue

I got a Double Dragon with garbage, just all the time garbage. I ran my eyes over the board top to bottom and cleaned it, but still nothing but garbage and flipped screens. Even tried it in my JAMMA cabinet and it was still just as bad. I can't say right now I know enough about the integrated circui...

Re: Arcade RGB - VGA sync issue

I have a few games my GBS-8220 doesn't like at all and some that will work but with badly washed out colors. Mostly caused by medium resolution games......i got a few Sega boards in my collection. But otherwise I've really only tried it with a few JAMMA games with a Standard CGA resolution. They wor...

Re: Possible to Create Own Personal Portable Device

Outta be interesting to see someone single handed make this type of game. Even though technically it could be considered a rip off of Pokemon........ Just know this, besides just the whole programming expertise you would need to make something like this, you would also need to be able to understand ...

Re: Help fixing a Vectrex

I've never personally done any work on something like a Vector monitor, let alone a Vectrex. My only suggestion is that if you are doing to work on it, discharge it safely though. Look over the caps closely, make sure there isn't any sign of bursting or any ooze leaking out of them. Be aware though,...

Re: The Afternoon projects thread.

Been a while since I posted anything. This isn't really an afternoon project I did because I was at work, but sometimes I spend my nights like afternoons catching up on all the work on projects I haven't been able to get to. So I got two 25" CRT tubes sitting in my room........with the rest of my ju...

Re: Where go buy or have a cabinet built for cheap?

I actually found a couple of local arcades that sell their empty cabinets pretty close by. One guy said he would work with me on getting a gutted SFII cabinet with a working monitor and buttons. Unfortunately he can't deliver it. Another guy though has gutted cabinets of all kinds including candy c...

Re: Where go buy or have a cabinet built for cheap?

Try this place NorthCoast Custom Arcades

They have a decent number of cabinet designs that ship pre-cut and are easy to assemble like most furniture these days.
Their Upright design seems great for a MAME project, and has a slide out keyboard spot with still having a typical control panel on top.

Re: SNK Neo 50

Is that monitor really just using discrete components for the convergence amps? Or are there STK's elsewhere in there? This is what I heard from a poster at Arcade-Museum.forums. "Apparently this chassis doesn't use STK's, its using discrete Transistors for the convergence amps." Probably because t...

Re: SNK Neo 50

I have begun working some more on the cabinet! Right now I'm wiring a new harness but encountering a slight bump, the power feeds are 20 gauge and I can't seem to get help figuring out if they need to be 18 gauge or what not....................... Really the KLOV forums kills me when they ignore som...

Re: MAME Coin op question.

Just a heads up. Nintendo did release arcade versions of most of their popular console games. Its called the Nintendo Playchoice, some came as a one game one unit, others came with a dual screen (game on bottom, select screen on top) and multiple interchangable game roms. I'm not a 100% but I do bel...

Do you intend to add an inline or panel mount fuse holder?
Probably a panel mount. Sadly I don't see those in stores like Ace or Home Depot really. I may order a few online and save the rest for later projects because all i need is really 2.

SNK Neo 50

Yo, I've got a new item that I've added to my collection of arcade stuffs. Found an ad on craigslist that had a SNK Neo 50 cab for sale. I contacted the seller and proceeded to exchange information and from there so on, BAM! I've got me a new cabinet to install some games in. Now the buyer said it n...

Seems Quiet Lately

I know I haven't been on in a while, but it seems pretty dead lately in Ben forums. Nothing "special" going on but besides a few members revising some of their older creations. The Arcade hacking forums are certainly dead, nothing ever happens in there. My projects have all been put on back burner f...
