Re: How long does your GH guitar last?
well that blew up in my face. removing the slider section resulted in a chaos of signals being sent. don't remove that.

Re: How long does your GH guitar last?
i had the problematic GH3 guitar. I ended up replacing all the buttons in the neck with my own custom buttons (i posted pics of it somewhere on here). I use a WT guitar now, and I think i figured out what was causing the problems. While playing a song, I noticed that the blue tap button was randomly...

How long does your GH guitar last?
Since I got Guitar Hero 5, I've dusted off my World Tour guitar, but an old issue has returned with it. Long story short, after a while of playing, the guitar will randomly cut-out on button holds, and strum the strummer without me even touchng it. I'll change the batteries, and blamo, suddenly I'm ...

Re: XBOX360, bad capacitors?
it kinda looks like that (sorry, my camera isn't compatible with this computer), but imagine that the crease lines are all flat, but the areas in between are raised, that's what's weirding me out about it.

XBOX360, bad capacitors?
I'm attempting to fix a mystery problem with a friend's 360 (2006 model), and when I took out the CD-Rom, I noticed that all of the yellow 820uf capacitors look swollen. The tops are all buldgy around the indented lines, while the black capacitors are all flat. I don't have another board to compare ...

PS3 Yellow/Red blinking light of death FIXED!
Wow, this fix was hard as crap to find on the net, but it worked. Lemme start from the beginning. Last night I was playing a game and suddenly my PS3 froze for about one second and then shut off. I tried to turn it back on, but all I got was the YLOD (yellow light of death), or as some call it, the ...

Re: PS3 blinking red light of death
Hot freakin' damn I fixed it! After an exhaustive search, I finally found a video on youtube with a solution, and it worked. It turns out that the GPU and/or the CPU get overheated and the solder connections to the board go bad. The guy said to use a heat gun at about 700 degrees and hover around th...

PS3 blinking red light of death
Last night while I was playing a game, my PS3 shut down. Now I get the red blinking light of death (turns on normally for about 2 seconds, then the light goes yellow, then flashes red eternally). I've taken the whole thing apart, but I can't see anything visibly wrong. The CMOS battery looks good, t...

My Moded Guitar Hero guitar
For as long as I've been playing GH, I've hated the button placements on the guitar neck. The best way that I can play is to pop my pinky finger out of socket to hit the high notes. Yesterday my guitar went sailing into the livingroom floor, breaking the neck, so i decided to do a mod that I've alwa...

New Futurama opening code cracked
The new Futurama DVD, "Into the Wild Green Yonder" features a coded alien text as the subtitle in the opening credits. I decoded it today and it reads, "The humans shall not defeat us." Not very revealing, but now you know. enjoy

it's interlaced vs. progressive scan. i know, i had the exact same problem. my SDTV actually couldn't display it, even though it had compnent inputs. however, it always works with HDTVs. there is a setting in the Display Output part of the settings menu that will let you switch between Inter. and Pr...

Gen-X system opened, pics!
I purchased a Gen-X Dual Station console the other day, which plays Genesis and NES games, and got a nice suprise when I opened it up. <img src="http://blankdisk.mervernation.com/portables/genx1.jpg"> The outside case of the system, sitting on top of an old Genesis board. <img src="http://blankdisk....

Game Gear (on a chip) Port Addition
Okay, what i'm talking about here is making it so i can play any Game Gear game on a GGOAC. I found a Game Gear Controller to TV deal at K-Mart that came with Sonic Blast on it. I pulled it, and my old Game Gear apart, and it seemed straight forward enough. The game's ROM chip on the GGOAC was quite...
