I am trying to rebuild the controller on a breadboard so I can hook it up to arcade buttons.
The fact that those are resistors makes a huge difference. What do they measure?

SNES Controller -- Capacitor
Sorry to make so many SNES controller topics, but I think it might be best to start a new one to focus the answers. Does anyone know the rating on the capacitor on this SNES controller (specificlaly C1)? http://www.andygoetz.org/snes_nintendo.jpg The controller I am tearing apart only has C1, and no...

Re: Arduino-based SNES controller?
Why not keeo the whole board? I thought by rebuilding it I could get better connections. Soldeirng on leads to the controller was problematic in that the wires tended to rip off very easily. It was also difficult to manage with all those wires coming off the board.

Arduino-based SNES controller?
I am trying to build my own arcade stick/controller that will work with real SNES hardware. I tried removing the chip that is the "brain" of the controller (V520B), and placing it on a breakout board so I could tinker with it (wire up my own buttons, etc). Essentially you could say that I am trying ...

So this seems like it could be fairly easy. I apologize though, because I don't really know too much about electronics yet, but I am studying engineering at a university right now, so learning shouldn't be that difficult. Could you please elaborate a little? I am not sure what you mean by common gro...

So basically, I can just use an SNES controller chip, buy the button switches, and connect 2 wires from the buttons to the chip... for each button on the pad. Am I getting that correct? I realize that there are specific places I need to wire, but theres not other circuity involved beside re routing ...

SNES Arcade Cabinet
I want to do something similar to this: http://www.willyliliana.com/NES%20Cabinet/NES%20Cabinet.htm but with an SNES... and without the short shorts. I will be able to get my hands on a cabinet, mount the console on the inside with an opening for the cartridge. Now here is the problem. I originally ...

Sorry, I forgot to mention that I saw these already. I would really like to do this myself, rather than spend the $20.jeroen wrote:http://www.retrousb.com/wii.html tada!
Is it really possible to just map the buttons? I have a feeling that hte controllers work in a completely different way. Does anyone know?

Use an SNES controller on the gamecube
What I want to do is make it possible to use an actual SNES controller to play SNES games on the Wii's virtual console. I do realize they have a digital gamecube controller (with a big D-Pad) out there already, but I really want to use an actual SNES controller. I would think that this would be a re...

Ben you should have done your research! Nintendo's "game wand" as you call it will have a traditional style controller shell as mentioned above. I am starting to agree about the HD thing, I think Nintendo should have included that. I really don't know how the Rev will do in a wide spectrum, but I fo...
