Re: Rymel's Handheld PS2
i swear i'm not dead. work has just been really busy lately, so i had to put this on hold. i also realized there was a smarter way to mount screw posts, and i just haven't gotten around to doing it yet. i'll return to it soon...

Re: Rymel's Handheld PS2
i guess i'll test the original charger at first, wired for balanced charging and see how that goes. i can't see any other reason for that third wire to be there otherwise. i just have to find that connector somewhere as i'd rather not ruin a perfectly good 7.4v pack just for the stinking connector. ...

Re: Rymel's Handheld PS2
OH. i was wondering where the confusion was stemming from. i'm not reusing the batteries that came with the tv, i kind of just assumed it was a bad idea to mix different sized batteries. i'm simply using two of the batteries i linked earlier, which is gonna give me 7.4v@25.2Ah total, way more than e...

Re: Rymel's Handheld PS2
Maybe, it would depend on the maximum power draw the batteries can sustain without failing and if the charger can support the larger batteries. If you do put some cells in parallel, make certain that they are of the same batch and capacity... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d4lNx2Wn6Oc i don't see h...

Re: Rymel's Handheld PS2
batteryspace has a premade one, but i don't like it. it also won't show me a 'full' bar in my use because it's way over my voltage rating. it's also huge. waste of money, better to make one. check out my vizio post in the screens section for pics as i opened it up. other than not needing the capacit...

Re: Rymel's Handheld PS2
I understood the first part of what you said the first time. I just didn't think it affected the lifetime of the battery that much if it was charged in series. It does make sense now that you've cleared it up though, thanks. Have you ever built a battery gauge? I just realized I'll need that if I do...

Re: Rymel's Handheld PS2
woke up bright n early this morning and had no work, which means two things - more project time, and procrastination! i'm way too lazy to work on it non-stop  http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w227/Rymelz/Portable%20PS2%20Project/IMG_1264.jpg traced out and drilled mounting holes for the PS2 m...

Re: Rymel's Handheld PS2
i'm not sure i understand your explanation. it is two 3.7v packs (you can see it in a previous post), but i thought you couldn't charge from anywhere else except one point edit: i forgot i'd posted the pic in a different thread entirely... http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w227/Rymelz/Portable%20PS...

Re: Rymel's Handheld PS2
got out of work early today, so i did a little shopping. dropped by home depot and a local hardware supply shop and bought stuff to work on the case. here we go! /mario http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w227/Rymelz/Portable%20PS2%20Project/IMG_1254.jpg couldn't help myself, hunted down a 79001 PS2....

Re: Vizio 7" LED TV teardown
i thought it's worth noting in this thread for future readers that the pack in the tv is 7.4v@2.8a, and that most (or at least 79k+ model) PS2 slims operate on 7.4v@2.5a. the tv can run off of its own pack for roughly 2.5-3 hours advertised, and i've played at least 2 hours on it myself without a pr...

Re: Rymel's Handheld PS2
Yea I thought about it, but the 90k series was designed specifically to defeat the FMCB exploit, so unless I mod it and source a distributor that actually has an HD Connect in stock I don't actually know how to access HD Loader with this model. That's also besides the fact I was really trying to avo...

Re: Rymel's Handheld PS2
i scored a 90001 model at my local shop today after work, so i got to taking the system apart. after a bit of head scratching though, since this new PSTwo uses screws to bolt the board down, where my 77012 board was simply held down by like...the controller/memory card port screw. fortunately, there...

Re: Rymel's Handheld PS2
well, fitting everything in won't be a problem anymore, it's going to be a little bigger than planned... http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w227/Rymelz/Portable%20PS2%20Project/IMG_1245.jpg i'm mulling over the idea of dealing with it and accepting the size increase (and subsequently...where i'm put...

Re: Rymel's Handheld PS2
I'm building the case around the parts., not cramming the parts into the case. I have all the room I should need. I'd like to know what you think wouldn't fit though, so I can take it into consideration.
I'm gonna be using SMD components to save on space whenever possible btw
