Re: Using bigger LCD on GBA?
Why go with PSOne display? They costs quite a bit on eBay compared to generic LCD TV. PSOne's LCD is over 10 years old, some of the LCD modules today are much sharper and clearer if you can get the RGB connected like PSOne RGB can be. Plus you'd need to hack it for LED to reduce battery consumption....

Using bigger LCD on GBA?
Can it be done somehow?I like playing some GBA games and some of them aren't ported to DSi/3DS yet so I can't take advantage of the XL bigger screen for some games. I have seen some information about TV out for original GBA but no schematic and finding a brand new TV out addon seems rather hard thes...

Re: replacing Atari Lynx LCD?
Sorry to bump my old thread but someone figured out a way to make replacement LCD mod work on Lynx plus have video out. http://atariage.com/forums/topic/202796-lynx-to-vga/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Check out his pictures and video of the progress. He's already at the prototypin...

Re: I built a NES pretty much from scratch.
A 0.04mm error would amount only to a total of 1.44mm wider cart slot. Too small a variation between NES and standard connector to be a problem.

Re: Atari 2600 Pause Mod Kit available now...
Probably based on what AtariAge store sells: http://www.atariage.com/store/index.php ... tail&p=953" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I don't know who invented what first but AA store is cheaper even with shipping. It's where I got my pause mod almost a year ago.

Re: Hacking a CRT TV to take a RGB connection
It's funny CRT TV can do RGB, it is what the CRT uses to make 3 primaries show up on the screen. It's a matter of finding the right pins (most CRT tubes are documented) and figuring the right place to inject RGB signal from outside. All the while avoiding getting zapped by the thick anode wire. Yes ...

Re: 3.5" LCD with RGB input? (for Nomad modding)
I'm also with other, don't believe what the seller claims. Many of the specs are misleading due to communication barrier, and some are outright lies. I was looking for laptop batteries, and I saw some cheap ones with 6 cells claiming to do over 11k mAH. My old battery is original HP, 9 cells, and to...

Re: Buying a SNESp
FC-16 Go Mobile and Supaboy both can be found in many places like eBay and Amazon. I don'y have either so I can't comment on which is good but you can google for reviews. There's also RetroDuo Portable system which has both NES and SNES support. Costs more than other 2 SNES systems but you get 1000'...

TurboBooster Plus one component unknown IC
One of my plan for portable system was CoreGrafx + region mod + decent LCD and with memory saves for some games. Since there seems to be no information about TurboBooster (or CD system) save function, I went ahead and tried to take it apart. NEC used way too much older on the RF shield. I wasted ove...

And yep that's a zener diode, usually placed in reverse bias as voltage control.

Cool design, very shiny and great idea of using laser slot for card slot.
If I wanted a custom paint job, I'd have made mine in black and faux wood grain to match my Atari 2600.

Has anyone reverse engineered Lynx LCD?
Would like to replace the stock LCD with something, either those with compatible connection or with Lynx AV mod and any cheap AV monitor. There are schematic on AA site but the pinout don't make sense to me. Most LCD has 3 sets of color input (3 bits, 4 bits, etc each RGB channels) plus control, clo...

Re: Sega Master System 2 MOD
Really no region other than 50Hz/60Hz limitation.
There is one mod that could be added. Sega Rapid Fire module is really a simple design with switch between manual and auto fire. How about that built in?

An old link from Atari Age by someone who seems to have dropped off Earth many years ago:
http://portable.0catch.com/lynx_light.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
It has been done but it was never finished so I don't know if it can be done and look great.

replacing Atari Lynx LCD?
The original LCD is pretty old and looks crap compared to modern LCD. So I'd like to replace it but there doesn't seen to be much info on hacking Lynx other than LED mod. Does anyone know if there can be A/V or S-Video mod to Lynx so I could use a newer LCD? I looked at the schematic but it seems to...
