You really don't think they'll be too bright? My concern is that the screen would be so bright that it'd get washed out to the point where I wouldn't be able to see anything. If that's not a problem, these should work, as they're practically identical other than the increased mcd output.

Ah yeah, the screen. I'd actually had that same thought after I posted, regarding it being non-standard, and I had a hunch that it was indeed. And I'm guessing that with a screen like this, I can't just replace it with any old screen, and it needs to be the same aspect ratio or some such if I do go ...
