Coming up way to fast. I had several projects I hoped to finish before the show but I doubt I will be able to carve out enough time between now and then. I guess I should start planning for MGC 2012 now, maybe we could do a group project and build some kind of tech ark!

Re: MGC 2010 HYPE thread
I need to come up with a backup power plan. Maybe a generator and some solar panels. Or a laptop. I would go for a generator if your power goes out a lot. Solar panels are good for extended use and small loads, but they are expensive. A generator will put out at least 10x as many watts per d...

Re: MGC 2010 HYPE thread
I am bummed I didn't get back over there on Sunday. I was awoken early because my house was oddly very quiet. I looked at the clock and realized there was no power. Living a techno-addicted life kind of sucks when the power is out. No lights, no heat, no toaster or Microwave. The internet was up, my...

Re: MGC 2010 HYPE thread
Oh boy, I see my printer is on the list of activities. <looking at the pile of parts on the counter> I guess I better get it reassembled. Heh.
Should be a good time. I can't help but think the move closer to Milwaukee will make a big difference on attendance.

Re: MGC 2010 HYPE thread
I am planning on attending. Ben asked me to bring my proto-3D printer. Its kind of loud when its running though. I need to make a box for it or something. Also if anyone needs tools or parts let me know. I live about 30 minutes from the hotel so I can bring anything along thats needed. I have a fair...

Re: The Benheck.com Experience at Midwest Gaming Classic 2009
Has anyone seen the space yet? Is there room to setup the projector and screen I am bringing?
If anyone realizes the forgot something send me a note before tomorrow morning and I will bring it along when I come over tomorrow.

Re: The Benheck.com Experience at Midwest Gaming Classic 2009
I am bringing along a DLP projector and a screen. I don't know if there will be enough room to set it up but if there is we will have a way to project the images for anyone to see. The projector takes VGA, S-Video and Composite. Actually I think it takes component too via a converter cable. I can't ...

Re: The Benheck.com Experience at Midwest Gaming Classic 2009
I realize its late notice, but if anyone is looking for a place to stay for the weekend they are welcome to stay at my house. Its not real close to the event, I am on the North side of Milwaukee, about 40 miles, but its free. Also if anyone ends up needing parts or tools once they get to the event l...

Got my triwing and 4.5mm screwdrivers on me.
Forgot a few resistors though, so I might not be able to burn a PIC.

Re: Chicago
Another option is to fly to Chicago. Usually the cheapest flights to Milwaukee are those that go to Chicago and then you shuttle to Milwaukee. Chicago is much closer to Milwaukee than Minneapolis. I think at this late hour though there is no avoiding an expensive flight. The cheapest I see into Chi...

Sorry guys. Seems I can't make it this year. I have the money (saved $1700 to go), but my parents say I can't go by myself and no one I know Can go with me. Next year nothing will Stop me. My only fear is that there may not be a next year. Would it help any if you flew in, rather than drove? ...

I plan to be there both days. I wish it was a little later in the year, but I think there was too much competition for the space during the spring. If anyone is looking for a place to stay let me know. I am on the North Side of Milwaukee. It is a longer drive than staying at the hotel but its free a...

Digg
It was slow because links to Ben's site ended up on the site digg. That often ends up in sites going completely down.
I can't really complain though. Its not like we pay to use the forums.

Excellent presentation Ben very enjoyable. The highlight of the show for me. In fact I was somewhat disappointed by the rest of the event. I thought there were more vendors selling more stuff last year. I liked the trivia they had this year so parts of it were better and being able to play Tron on f...
