Maybe if everything internally was attached to the framework and the paper mache was a cosmetic shell it might work. Still, it might add too much bulk and/or weight. The R/C plane guys use thin fiberglass cloth and minwax water based urethane to cover wings - fairly thin, light, and tough. That migh...

I used to repair nextels - cute little plugs just like that - 64 pins to the inch. It's doable. Just use a FINE tip, 600 degree or less, a huge lighted magnifier, lots of patience, and excedrin (you know, the headache stuff). The 80 conductor cables for ultra-ATA drives is pretty close to the right ...

bondo forming.....yep
Minkster, I did body work for a while - you can use birdwire, aluminum screen, styrene plastic, popscicle sticks, or whatever as a basic framework and build up bondo on top of it. You can do multiple layers and it sticks to itself very well. The aforementioned "fiberglass" bondo is much stronger, .....

If I understand right, the Afterburner used a reflective film that went in front of the lcd. The tiny leds that lit up were aimed in between the film and lcd, the light was reflected onto the lcd from the film, and reflected back through the film. The film is a type of fresnel (I think) hence the li...

I've got one out of a Profile 2. The interface is LVDS and is NOT compatible with DVI. The board is identical to the pic you have posted. I couldn't see the plug pic as well for the cable end. Someone makes adapter cables for the cables and has pinouts....I just can't find the url. If I find it I'll...

Your pinout looks like an LVDS interface. It would take an adapter board to make it work with anything. There several available with docs posted on the web. Do a search for "vga to lvds", "ntsc to lvds" adapter or something similar. EIO was carrying the Cheetah board for a while. Most of the sites h...

Compact flash to ide adapters
Dash the Hero Sorry about that - they USED to have them on the site at idot. Now all they have is one in a 3.5" mount - "small form factor>storage" ACS manufactures them - www.acscontrol.com - and they have an online store. Several flavors available. Come payday I'm ordering a couple for a project w...

If you want to continue with the sandisk idea - www.idot.com has a compact flash to ide adapter board that will boot because the mobo sees it as an ide drive. Format the CF as a bootable drive, install an OS to it, copy/install your game, set up your autoexec.bat file or menu or whatever, reboot and...
