Re: Rise from your grave.
I hate to admit it, but Bac's site was the most active portablizing site in the last year. But now he's gone crazy and deleted that site and exposed himself for a lunatic, so that's gone too. :P It's fun to see old members logging on again, though! What have you all been up to? I've learned a ton ab...

They're not deleted, you guys. Ben's just set it so you can't see anything while he's getting all the subforums set up correctly.

You may want to use a third party controller so you can use a different joystick. That's what most people do.

Re: The Afternoon projects thread.
I built a benchtop power supply out of a computer PSU back in 2008. It decided to finally bite the dust. The power supply still worked, but the circuitry that powered the fan stopped working. I could have just hooked the fan up to the 12v line, but if it does not detect a fan then it limits the outp...

I heard you guys liked progress, so I made some for you. :P All the sides are filed to the right dimensions: http://i52.tinypic.com/20utt74.jpg Started on the d-pad hole (the drill chipped that corner - oops): http://i51.tinypic.com/eheqsi.jpg It turned out fine, though: http://i55.tinypic.com/s5wea...

Why do you think he's upgrading it? It put out 2 pounds I think. It may not be the best for a car, but it should be great for a weed whacker.

Re: Motorized vehicle projects mopeds/bikes/gokarts etc!~
Motorized vehicles? Does this kludged monstrosity count? http://i55.tinypic.com/bev4hx.jpg My dad just got a new supercharger on his car and is giving me the old, electric one. I'm gonna stick it on this bike and see what happens! I'll probably blow the engine out, considering how much thrust ...

Re: The Afternoon projects thread.
Really? How old was it? I know for sure that all the new LG chargers do that, because all the modern LG phones require those pins to be bridged to go into charging mode. I just had to mod a generic USB charger myself, you see, specifically for an LG phone. :P You're misunderstanding me. I mean it's...

Re: The Afternoon projects thread.
This one was actually just a phone charger, so it didn't have the second and third pins.

Re: The Afternoon projects thread.
Here's something I finished just today. It's a USB wall charger, integrated into the wall itself. I bought a blank wall plate and cut out the holes for the USB ports, then glued them in. I used a regular LG phone charger (4.8v, 900mA) for the power source. It wasn't too hard to get it all to fit. Th...

Re: Brushless Motor vs Brushed Motor Question
No, you can't. Brushless motors require control electronics. That's why they need sensors, to determine where the motor is at. Brushed motors can run without electronics. There's really no way to convert a brushless motor to act like a brushed one.

Re: Freakiest dream/lolwut to OH **** moment (s) you had/saw
There was this one time I was sitting at my desk, struggling to stay awake. I had fallen half asleep, and when I jerked myself out of it, there was something that looked like a sackperson from LBP crawling across the lines of my notebook. It stayed there for a good two seconds, even when I moved my ...
