If that's true, it's really a shame. I bought it brand new, and it was worth every penny of that $50. I'd gladly buy it for even $40 if I could find it and didn't have a copy.

It depends, really. I'm in need of cash in the worst way, but if it's something I can sell with a fair amount of ease, then a trade would be fine.

Bump. ^^; As far as the battery issue goes, it might just be the kind of batteries I've tried using. None have been the ones mentioned in the book, so it could be entirely my fault. And now that I think of it, I may as well mention that the battery slots are NOT wired up, seeing as they didn't work ...

First I used alkalines - six. Then I was told they don't feed a constant voltage, so I went and bought an RC car pack. 1000 mAh, 9 volts. Still too much, and after a bit of thinking I realized the book was misleading - you use 7.5 volts to power the screen, and take power from that for the SNES. (I ...

http://www.benheck.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=16496 I spent way too much time on this to let it go, but I need money like no other right now. The entire system is wired and works, albeit also looks butt ugly. There are TWO problems: 1) It will NOT run on BATTERIES. Technically it will, but the color...

Yes, except for the part where I made it butt ugly and run from an AC adapter.

NEXT GEN SNESp! (Finished SNESp.)

After years of R and D and more R and more D and a bunch of WTF, the fledgeling company Ghettendo has officially released its next-gen Super Nintendo portable system: Ladies and gentlemen, I give you: THE GHETTENDO GHETT-SNES http://i79.imagethrust.com/t/716041/1000012.jpg Yes, that red thing is a w...

It's the batteries I'm using, or something related to them. I hooked the ac port up, and everything is PERFECT. Batteries, both rechargables and alkalines (7.2 and 7.5 volts respectively), not so much. Mind you, the rechargables are six of an original eight belonging to a 9.6v 1000 mAh power pack (t...

But alkalines (new ones) are not 1.5V to begin with. THey have a steep discharge curve, and so being around 2.5V (I believe). If you're using absolutely new alkalines, try the pack. Also, follow the wires on the back of the board. Somewhere on the right side near the bottom there is a spot to wire ...

... I think I need a new screen. If I use five alkalines (7.5v), the screen does the same thing, just very dimly. I'm in the process of hacking up a 9.6v Ni-cd pack into a 7.2, but I don't see why it would make any difference. Those alkalines were fresh a week ago, and have had sporadic use for test...

what voltage is your battery rated? if it is higher than 8 volts, then that could be a problem with the screen... I'm using six alkaline AA batteries. Assuming 1.5 volts each, that's 9 total. However, Ben's book mentions being able to use them, yes? The current gets run through a regulator from the...

I've gone back over my wiring, and the voltage lines seem correct. I still think the video contact point on the screen is my problem - it's only a piece of wire that's been pried up from the plastic. That aside, I've tried two cartridges: Super Mario All-Stars & World, and Stunt Race FX. Both play j...

Voltage issues occurred to me - I was just looking through the extremetech site, and saw the 5v wire to the SNES hooked into a different spot than I think mine is. I've been going up and down stairs trying ideas long enough for tonight, though, so I'll get on that tomorrow. Thanks for the speedy res...
