Thought I'd post this as I had a couple of hours today and modified the original PS1 screen box to suit my portable. The internal cardboard is a good fit for it. http://img54.imageshack.us/img54/7193/p1010029hu3.th.jpg It's in the style of the original Super Famicom box: http://homepages.paradise.ne...

Top work G-force. Really impressed!!! I have a couple of questions I hope you don't mind answering... I notice that the SJ3 doesn't have a 7805 regulator on it, yet you've added one... As well as using it for the LEDs, have you applied the 5v to pin 1 on the SJ from the regulator too? If so, does th...

Thanks for the kind comments guys. dudex77 - the US SNES plays SFC games already - no need to mod it. It wont play PAL games though. If there's one thing I'd suggest as an alternative to Ben's design, it would be to use 'plasticard' for the box (both the face amd the sides) - it's really strong, yet...

I don't think the newer snes, or the snes-minis, can be 50-60Hz modded :( PPU1 and PPU2 were merged into a single chip as you say, and no-one has cracked that one yet ...At least I've not been able to find anywhere with details on the single chip mod. I think you may be better off buying an older sn...

good luck dudex77 :D Keep me posted with your progress!! Yup - I got everything sent from the US so I could follow the book closely - i can follow instructions well, but i wouldn't have a clue how to work without them. mine's coming along quite nicely, but slowly. I've done quite a bit since the ori...

Re: Intec screen pad..black and white?!
Ah you're based in the UK like myself. Is the screen you mention PAL (i.e. bought in the UK) and the console you're using NTSC (i.e. imported from the US/Jap)? Are you using composite signal? If all this is true, then it'll be because the screen can't handle the NTSC signal (it give this B&W effect)...

Yep - it's 100% Ben's design. Like I say, I'm following the (great) book. I like the SFC / PAL colour scheme, so modified Ben's graphic pack - that's the only difference so far. I'll be keeping the sticker on the back crediting the design to Ben. I'm planning on getting a bit more done this weekend ...
