http://www.team-mediaportal.com That is what I use on my home theater pc. Once you get the hang of it, it runs circles around Vista Media Center in my opinion. It too has it's limitations, such as a current free TV Guide. The skins are awesome, and the fact that it is open source and you run it in ...

I want to modify an AV switch to use IR
I'm wondering if any of you have any experience with this. I've searched the forums, and really couldn't find anyone doing anything with IR receivers. I have an automatic AV switch, it has 4 inputs, and 1 output. It is supposed to automatically tell which device is turned on, and switch to that devi...

Wow, I didn't realize all you guys were so young. I can't believe I'm the first one to say this, but my dad and my son play games! How do you like that! Oh, my son's dad likes games a little bit too. :) For some reason my dad loves Tomb Raider, I actually got him a GameCube for christmas along with ...

I just wanted to follow up with what I did. The Onkyo has an option to Bi-Amp the front speakers. It does this by using the amp for the two back 7.1 speakers (i'm only using 5.1 for now) as a subwoofer out, and the front speakers amp for high end frequencies. I connected the subwoofer to the right s...

Build my own subwoofer amp or buy one?
Hey guys, I have a question for ya'. My old Panasonic head unit (surround sound for home theatre) kicked the bucket. I may be getting an new Onkyo receiver pretty soon, and I'm wondering what I should do about the sub. The Panasonic had an amp for the Sub, the Onkyos have pre outs for a powerered su...

Hey guys, I've been gone for a while! Man, have you checked out www.arcadecontrols.com? I got lots of my info there while building my cabinets. Also, I've thought lots of the same things you have in setting this stuff up. I would suggest looking on ebay for some older Dell PCs for your computer. Peo...

Anyone ever use a 40 Pin Male IDE cable?
I'm looking for a 40 pin Male IDE cable. I would prefer male adapters or both sides, but a male on one side and female on the other would have to work if it has too. I've been searching google, but the sites in the US seem to elude me at the moment. I've seen a few in other countries, but the shippi...

I've always called my small cabinet a Bartop cabinet. That is what I've usually seen the small ones called. I have a 17" monitor, 8 way stick, 8 player buttons and select and start buttons. Not enough room on it for another joystick with a 17" wide control panel. My brother and I are in the process ...

Do we have an IRC channel?
I was just wondering. It seemed like it would be pretty cool to be able to chat with you people sometimes. I know you would get people coming in all the time asking for help, but that wouldn't be so bad would it?

Is this what you need sir?

That is a SCSI-1/SCSI-2. If you are just wanting to cut it to solder to the N64 cart slot then that cable should work just fine.

I have a boot CD that starts up a GUI that looks very similar to Windows XP. That disk has everything you need to work on broken versions of Windows 2000/XP. You can reset any user account on the computer, edit the registry, browse pr0n on the internet and even destroy all the contents of a hard dri...
