Arcade and TV repair help!
Hey y'all, hope I'm posting in the right place. So I have two issues: 1. Vertical collapse on a Midway Mortal Kombat II arcade. 2. Samsung hls6187wx/xaa projection TV dead. For the MKII arcade, it looks like the vertical adjustment board has already been replaced (odd looking board soldered directly...

Re: Entertainment System, Nintendo, 8-Bit
Ok, after FAR too long my creation is complete. I worked on it off and on while getting my degree. I finally got my degree, and I finally finished my ammo can Nintendo. Here it is in horrible webcam vision by ACER: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EVGFR25Mux8 BTW, my degree is one of those useless on...

Re: Entertainment System, Nintendo, 8-Bit
I'm gonna guess here that not all of it is wired up properly....from looking at your diagram there anyway lol. Umm....from looking at your diagram...Are you actually trying to push the wall AC straight into the 7805? The 7805 only regulates DC current, not AC. You need an 8-12volt (output) ...

Re: Entertainment System, Nintendo, 8-Bit
Well I've finally got everything wired, but it doesn't work. The LED comes on and the speakers on the tv click when I flip the switch, but that's about it...any suggestions on what I need to do to make it work? EDIT: The 7805 gets too hot to touch the heatsink it's attached to in about 30 seco...

Re: Entertainment System, Nintendo, 8-Bit
Alrighty guys, I really have next to no idea how to correctly wire, so I drew you what my understanding of it is currently. The five dots on the left are on the NES board, left to right it's video, audio, 5vdc, reset, reset. I am using a lighted toggle switch, and it says "power" on the left prong, ...

Re: Entertainment System, Nintendo, 8-Bit
Ok, I've been out of town for a while, so I haven't had much time to work on the project. I just finished the case today. I still have a ton of work to do for the innards, but I'm pretty happy with the case. Here are a few pics. http://i1120.photobucket.com/albums/l482/astronozzle/IMG_1696Medium.jpg...

Re: Entertainment System, Nintendo, 8-Bit
Oh crap, I didn't know that. I'll be sure to test it before I glue everything down.Metallica Man X wrote:Diggin' that ammo box action.
You might want to shorten those wires to the cart connector, if they're too long, the games won't boot.

Re: Entertainment System, Nintendo, 8-Bit
Wow. Nice stencil work. Why thank you. Here's a pic of the outside of the can. I had a heck of the time getting the stencil right-ish, as you can probably tell. http://i1120.photobucket.com/albums/l482/astronozzle/IMG_1632Medium.jpg Now you can play Tetris on the battlefield! My plan is to convince...

Re: Entertainment System, Nintendo, 8-Bit
I've made a huge mistake...maybe...I think. I just finished half of the connector soldering, but take a look--I'm not sure if it makes a difference, but I'm a little worried that I wired it backwards. Should I have wired the pins to the other side? http://i1120.photobucket.com/albums/l482...

Re: What do you think about GMail's new look?
I was annoyed that they discontinued offline backup through gears. They offer a similar (but inferior) way to do it through chrome, but I much prefer firefox. Now I have to use outlook.

Re: Entertainment System, Nintendo, 8-Bit
I've probably got eight to ten ammo cans laying around. When I was a CAP cadet, we used to trade the pararescue guys beer for ammo cans. We got around 50 all together.

Entertainment System, Nintendo, 8-Bit
Firstoff, I hope this is the right place. I'm brand new here. I've had this idea of putting an NES in a .50 cal ammo can for a while now, and I've finally got a little time to mess with it now that finals are over. My friend told me about benheck.com, so I figured I'd get some input from you guys. S...
