Re: VGA output via fpga

DVI huh, that's actually a better idea since most TV's have an HDMI port now days and will for a few decades at least. This will be perfect for those hotel room TV's that can't accept low res composite signals as well. Not to mention since it's a direct digital signal there's not much conversion goi...

GameShark LED Re-Enabling

So after reading up on which v3.3 GameSharks have parallel ports that worked, I wanted to see if mine contained the necessary chips to do so. Turns out it does, and it even has the LED counter installed with transistors and capacitors. The only thing that seems to be missing is the SN74HC164D 8-BIT ...

Now that's what the system should have looked like from the beginning, all in one, no red screen of death, wonderful looking system mod.

Oh very nice indeed, instead of RGB amps, just a direct bright VGA output at 31hz which is perfect for modern TV's, upscalers and monitors. Can't wait to see this in 2012 soon :)

Double Positive Coin Cell Holder For Sega CD?

Well I've started replacement projects with any console that has a back up battery for save game or a clock. Pretty much I want to put in coin cell holders so that when the battery dies I can easily plop it out and put in a fresh one. So I thought why not start with the Sega CD since the battery has...

Re: VGA output via fpga

 This seriously makes me happy, I mean the first thing I noticed was the copyright 2000 on the motherboard meaning, this mod can be preformed on any N64 with the NUS-CPU-05 revision and higher right? In tern adding RGB to any digital RGB N64. Keep up the wonderful work Mr. Marshall!

Re: Nintendo 64 Motherboard Revisions/Serials Info Request

Thought I would add my Japanese N64 to the collection of serial numbers. Supposedly from the seller I bought it from, it's was a factory RGB ready system. The soldering job is very clean so I have no idea if that's true or not, either way the only thing this system needs is an RGB amp. :) NUJ1036113...
