Re: 3D or 3rd person Pokemon game.
While it may well be possible, my main hesitation is that Pokemon has already been milked more than any game series should be, and telling Nintendo that gamers want MORE Pokemon is probably one of the worst ideas I've heard. On the other hand, the Wii has already resulted in total loss of all faith ...

No idea what this toy coach thing is, but yeah, you can pull composite off of either side of that capacitor. Sorry about the wait there, but I had to find my old RCA testing plugs.

Re: PS1 Screen Schematics
It's on the back of the board, near the upper left-hand corner. Rather isolated. But the problem is I think it's a capacitor, which you need a special instrument to measure the value of.

Re: SNESmini audio chip
Awesome, thanks. Yeah, I found out the audio data must have been coming though from the apu, but not making it through due to one of the other chips nearer the rear of the board not having power. So yeah, like you said. Thanks again!

Re: SNESmini audio chip
Naw, power's back up but U6 is still down. Although I did pull off the 7805 and tap power from the PS1 screen (the 7805 closer to where the backlight inverter was). Do you know if the SNES needs power on its own 7805 input?

Not to sound mean, but you may want to reconsider things if the thing you're focused most on your project is the name.
Kind of like going to get a tattoo because you just thought of a cool tattoo design (though to a much lesser extent), if you catch my drift.

Re: SNESmini audio chip
No idea; I'm not getting an output from the L or R audio outputs of U6, though my batteries just died on me, so testing will have to wait. However, this might also mean that it was just low power cutting into the audio functions...maybe?

SNESmini audio chip
Does anyone know the pinout to U10 on the mini SNES? You know, the one that says S-MIX on it. I'm not getting even the faintest signal out of pins 11 and 12 on the normal output (probably pulled a contact, though it would affect both I don't know), but there are a couple of audio signals coming out ...

Re: Cheapest screen possible...I'm pretty clueless
I hope you realize that with any older console, the screen is almost guaranteed to be the most expensive part.
There's no way around it, LCD comes with a price, and 60 seems reasonable to me.

Re: power
Unless you know the type of DC-DC converter you would need, you're going to need a bunch of batteries (and different regulators if you want to be safe)

PS1 Screen Schematics
Has anyone been able to get a hold of schematics for one? Not pinouts, I mean some actual, component-included ones. I burnt out B13 on the board (though due to its position on the board all I can see it being is an anti-transient capacitor or a diode, possibly a resistor) and I can still use the scr...
