Re: Adapting DS lite touch screen to GBA(not for interface)
Welcome to the forums! I don't know much about the pin outs of how the Gameboy screens work but It would be hard to solder to the tiny ribbon cable pins. I have a guide on my site that shows a step by step tutorial on how to add a front light to a GBC. Feel free to check that out at http://www.chooc...

Re: Guide to frontlight a Gameboy Color
My distributor gets them brand new straight from Nintendo. The brand new screen covers come with a glossy protective layer to prevent scratches until it is peeled off. I leave them on the finished products so its up to the buyer to remove them or not.

Re: Guide to frontlight a Gameboy Color
I also like your paintjobs. But those reproduction screen covers are quite...ugly. Do you use shells from dealextreme? If not, you may want to try them. They come with better looking screen covers, but nothing beats the originals. The screen covers are original. They look odd because they have a pl...

Re: Paint to use on a GBA SP?
Nope no protective finished needed. I buy clear Gameboy Colors and paint the inside of the casing. Painting the inside lets the cool paint job shown, and protects it because the outside is still how I bought it. My modded Gameboy Colors seem to sell well. I'm not sure how good a custom painted GBA S...

Re: Paint to use on a GBA SP?
Here are a few of my Gameboy Color paint jobs. These units also have a frontlight, and a GBA SP speaker in them. http://i1115.photobucket.com/albums/k553/choochoobot/gbc-green.jpg http://i1115.photobucket.com/albums/k553/choochoobot/gbc-bling.jpg http://i1115.photobucket.com/albums/k553/choochoobot/...

Re: Paint to use on a GBA SP?
I use model paint from a local store on all my Gameboy paint jobs. Make sure it is for plastics though not metal. The metal tends to chip away if used on plastic. I don't really see the need to sand down the case. You could always just paint over the original paint job.

Re: Is there any way to make a gameboy micro faceplate?
Nintendo stopped making these awhile back. The only new ones out there are Japan collectable face plates that cost $60 to $100. I have been searching for my own new faceplate for awhile too.
To make your own you would need a knowledge in case making. I have never seen a homemade Micro case.

Ahh well I abandoned this project awhile ago. I ruined a perfectly good emerald in the process, but nothing ventured nothing gained.

Are you going to frontlight it too? Or is it just a rechargeable battery?

Nice grab on the 5 dollar SP. Mine were $24 a piece.... . The battery life feels the same to me so no need to worry about in draining batteries.

Re: Guide to frontlight a Gameboy Color
Nah you won't need any anti reflective film. Those films are used in Backlight mods. In our mod the light is in front of the screen. Hence it being called a frontlight mod. If your screen looks washed out when your mod is done it means that your frontlight is flipped the wrong way.

GBA cartridge mod. Need some help.
I was digging around in my house and found my pokemon emerald game. I recently modded my Pokemon Crystal cartridge to have an LED inside. I was wondering is this Possible to do in a GBA cartridge? If so what pins are the anode and cathode? I'm just a little confused on where I would solder to.
