WTB: The lifeless shells of your modded consoles.
As stated above, I'm looking for empty shells from modded Ataris, NESs, Genesis, etc. I'm no good at console modding, but I'm pretty good at building hyper-compact HTPC/High-Performance computers. So far, everything has been a black plastic box and I'm looking to get a retro ascetic for some of my n...

Re: MAME Coin op question.
I am aware of that, and that's why I want to go that route. I think he was asking if you couldn't just directly wire the coin switch to the buttons.

Re: MAME Coin op question.
As far as I know, that would not work and would need additional programming (ie: this microprocessor setup). Unless you only wanted control of the buttons for the .001 seconds the quarter holds the switch down.

Case Idea
I'm working on a case for this project. Ill be making the majority of it out of wood with an acrylic window for the boards (I've always liked starting at my handiwork) and most likely a non see-through plastic for the area surrounding the screen. I'll be making the External case Shell out of 1/4" pl...

Re: Transferring PS3 hdd data from dead system?
Here's My two cents: LINUX!! Seeing as how linux is not blocked against anything in particular (like windows is). It could potentially open up that HDD for you and you could recover your saves from it. Then, move them to a usb and onto the new machine. (you could use something like this: http://www....

Re: MAME Coin op question.
Hmmm. That reminds me vaguely of Garry's Mod's Wiremod addon. I dont know how to program like that yet. BUT believe it or not, I'm interning for a microcontroller plant working on the coding side. I might be able to hack together a program by the end of summer. :3

MAME Coin op question.
Problem: My friend wants me to build him an arcade cabinet (MAME of course) and he wants it to be coin operated. This would be all well and good if he only wanted MAME but he wants to play other games (like nes/snes etc) with the same coin op abilities. I know where to get a coin door, But I don't k...

Re: Nintendo Flashback
Update: So far, I have dismantled the Gamecube and put it back together (in a more flexible way of course), The guy giving me the N64 shipped it to the wrong address so I'm still waiting for it, I've broken an FC Twin, And Ive figured out how to power this thing. I thought I'd run it by you guys. Po...

Nintendo Flashback
Inspiration: About a week ago, my friend said, "I really wish that I could play all my old nintendo games on one console." Something about that rang a bell in my head and I decided to do just that. I began work on my first console hack that I called the "Nintendo Flashback". Details: The flashback i...

LCD battery help.
I'm looking at screens for my NES/SNES/N64 combo laptop but I don't know how to power one off of a battery. I'm looking at a 17 inch LCD tv. Any ideas?
