Looking for the perfect camera
Hello, I am looking for a small(needs to fit in a 2" rocket airframe) video camera that stores video locally, but also has a live feed that I can occasionally grab a still from with a micro-controller. Anyone have any suggestions?

3.7v to 3.3v and 5v simultaneously
Hello, I am working with a group to design an electronic payload for a rocket, and we want to have 3.3v and 5v available for different devices. So the problem is finding a booster that will go from a 3.7v Li-PO to 3.3v and 5v simultaneously. Everything I have found so far just does one or the other.

3d printer design suggestions
Hello, I have started designing a 3d printer that will be similar to Ben's briefcase design. I am looking for some hints as to what the best methods for drive systems would be. I am looking at all threaded rod at the moment, but when I visualize this in my head the x axis would move slower than if I...

Re: Help identifying a component
There was an identical component next to it that had WA W6 on it. The symbol under the component looked like this: (dots are to adjust spacing)
.......__|__/
....../../\
......../__\
..........|
It is also labeled zd102 which would make it a zener diode.

Help identifying a component
I am trying to repair a piece of electronic equipment and I have found a cracked and burnt component. It appears to be a surface mount diode. It is a black rectangle with a white line on one end. It has two number letter pairs, WA and W6. Does anyone know what this is and where I can get an equivale...

Re: Difference between Disk Defrag and Registry Defrag?
The registry is just a set of files on the hard disk. The reason most defragmenting utilities don't work on them is that they are in use if Windows is running and it is difficult to defrag a file that is in use. The best solution is to dual boot and defragment your main install of Windows with the o...

Finding an LCD controller
Hello, I came across an old laptop LCD today and want to turn it into a desktop monitor. I am having a hard time identifying the connection interface to know what kind of controller to look for. The LCD is a Quanta QD17TL02. The resolution is 1440 x 900. There is a 32 pin connector on the panel and ...

Re: Graphics card SBC?
I am currently studying Computer Engineering, but am just about to start my second year. Haven't covered much hardware stuff yet. I know it would be entirely impractical, but I just thought it would be something interesting to try. Writing the OS would probably be the most time consuming, unless som...

Graphics card SBC?
I work at a computer repair shop and we have a lot of old AGP video cards laying around and I was wondering if it would be possible to turn them into single board computers. I mean you already have RAM and a processor, all you would have to add is a PSU and some sort of storage.

Re: New PC in old case(dinosaur laptop)
I am trying to get it to work with a 1.5GB HDD. When I boot DOS and use fdisk, all I get is an error message saying "No fixed disks present." Do I need some sort of a prep boot disk so I can use the HDD? I can't help but think I would have the same problem with a cf card, so I think I need to try to...

New PC in old case(dinosaur laptop)
Hi! I came across a LapPRO 386SX. At first I wanted to refurbish it, but I'm not going to pay $120 for a refurbished HDD to put in it. The thing is huge and I was thinking I might be able to fit desktop components in there. I will, however need some help from someone who has done similar things befo...

What are you willing to pay? I have one that the speaker went bad in(original speaker already removed). I was going to fix it myself and keep it, but I would sell it for the right price.
