Re: Question about drawing/ 3d modeling a custom laptop case

I have some training in Solidworks, but I haven't used it in a few years. Just today I picked up 123D Design, and I find it has all the basic features that Solidworks has, laid out in a way that is easier to use. 123D is also completely free for several operating systems. Unless you need advanced fe...

3d printed cases (N64 specifically)

I haven't been active in a few years (On the forum, or with portablizing), and coming back I was surprised to see the lack of 3D printed cases! I've got a Printrbot in the mail, and I figured as my first big project (After expanding the build area, and adding modifications to allow ABS printing), I'...

Re: Revision C Gamecube on 7.4v

I think I need something like this: http://focus.ti.com/docs/prod/folders/print/ptn04050c.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Only this one takes an input of 3.3-5v and outputs 12w. I believe I need an input of 7.4 and an output of atleast 21w. I can't seem to find anything though. A...

Re: Revision C Gamecube on 7.4v

Awesome, an hour would be great (as it will play and charge, and I probably have a car adapter around somewhere). I doubt I'll be using the actual case from the portable dvd player, just the guts (the case is not in mint condition, I'll leave it at that). I'll have to find your worklog (I think I di...

Revision C Gamecube on 7.4v

With my very simple n64 completed I decided to take the next logical step, and move up to a Gamecube. I found a Gamecube for a good price at a goodwill store, along with an intec battery. I've decided not to use the intec battery because the battery life is terrible, and up until today I was just wa...

Re: A simple portable (complete)

The switch on the side is the main power switch. I was going to solder to a 12v point on the board to power the screen and 3v inverter, but I'm happy with the way this turned out. It's great in the car, or while waiting for another game to load, lol.

Intec gamecube battery

I am about to start a handheld gamecube, and I recently acquired an intec battery. I like how it uses the stock gamecube ac adapter to charge, and that it won't require regulators. I do not have a design in mind yet, so I could work with the size. I do have one big question, does anyone know the mAh...

A simple portable (complete)

I just finished this up a few days ago. This is my first portable, so I wanted to keep it simple. I did this project not for the end result, but to test my abilities. I know what you're going to say, it needs a bigger screen. I partially agree, but I wanted to keep costs low for my first one. It has...

Re: How does it break?

The sticky on waking up 'sleeping' n64s realy helped me. I thought I had a faulty GPU, but I'm now convinced it was the jumper pack not being installed properly.

Re: Xbox dvd drive not working.

I'd have him take that chip out and put it in a new Hitachi drive (if that can be done) that's the only way to be live-safe.

Re: Xbox 360 laptop selling price.

I ran a lite-on system with a benq drive for a few months without getting banned, but I've read that they can now detect spoofing, so I got a laser assebmly for the original drive. I'd say buy another hitachi, but there hasn't been an ixtreme release for that drive in a long time. Unless you could g...

Re: PAL games on NTSC GC?

If the Wii is softmodded I'm pretty sure you can load the PAL game using a backup channel (Just set it to force NTSC).

Re: Awesome deal on a GC

I did have to drive an hour and a half to get to this Rev. C, but the store usually has a system or two sitting there for around $10. (It's usually an original playstation or two).

Re: Awesome deal on a GC

I got a revision C a few days ago at a goodwill store with the power cord and an Intec battery for $18. Do I win? (And I thought I got ripped off because it didn't have the digital out :P )

Re: AACK!!! HEADPHONE JACK!!

I just made mine last night. All I did was solder some wire from the R audio on the N64 motherboard directly to a headphone jack, as well as ground. This just gives you a very basic mono sound (Solder to L and R for stereo), and you'd have to add a pot to control the volume (Although I find without ...
