...I was speaking English, wasn't I?
I know how parallel and series wiring works, but for the f*cking last time:
2600 mAh indicates the batteries' CHARGE, not the amperage/current/whatever you call it.
God f*cking damn it.

Re: Noob is making a portable PS2
*sigh* Hell no. If they batteries had an Output of 2600mA and I wanted to get 7.2V, 2600mA, I would need that many batteries. But I'm not talking about Amperage, I'm talking about Charge (which is what they store, not what they put out). So I would always get 15600mAh while it's irrelevant how I wir...

Did you just completely ignore what I wrote?

Re: Noob is making a portable PS2
I think the actual problem is that you guys do not seem to know what Amperage is (sorry if this sounds offensive). "2600 mAh" indicates the charge of the battery, not the amperage. The unit of amperage is 1 Ampére (1 A), while the Unit for Charge is 1 Coulomb (1 C). 1 mAh is equivalent to 3.6 Coulom...

Re: Noob is making a portable PS2
They are rechargable NiMHs. 6 * 1.2V = 7.2V 6 * 2600mAh = 15600mAh ~3h of playing It does work, I tried. Dude, I even own a dremel tool, and I know virtually NOTHING about portablization. (is that even a word?) :p Dremels aren't that popular where I live. In fact I didn't even know what a Dremel was...

I have a newer PS2 slim, so my motherboard looks different and is even harder to trim :S

Re: Noob is making a portable PS2
If you had taken your time reading my post, you would have read that the screen and the PS both run fine with 7.2V.
Anyway, I don't know whoat the first PS2 slim's mobo looks like, but I really can't just break off the controller ports on mine. :/

Re: Noob is making a portable PS2
The screen seems to run fine with 7.2V only.
So I guess the batteries aren't much of a problem anymore. But now, I have problems desoldering the controller ports...
The solder used there does apparently need really high temperatures. Has anyone done this already and can give advice?

Re: Noob is making a portable PS2
by remote i mean TV remote. and by adapters i mead the ps2 adapter amperage and the batteries amperage. If batteries had any amperage to output, I wouldn't ask people if it's healthy for the PS2 just to connect batteries to it. But as I said, the power supply outputs 7.5V, 4.5A. Concerning the batt...

Re: Noob is making a portable PS2
I really was trying to get a PSOne screen, but I couldn't find one. German Amazon website had none available. :( What I possibly need to try is to make the 8.5V screen run with 7.2V. And I also have difficulties with the controller. :/ Does anyone know what cable (colour) goes to what pin on the mot...

Re: PS2 slim SCPH-90000 Discovery
Interesting, I today got a PS2 with an internal power supply. Thanks for sharing that information.
Now all I need to is know if my screen runs with 7.2 too. But probbaly not, since it's supposed to get 8.5. :/

Re: Noob is making a portable PS2
Okay, the PS2 and the screen are here and I already opened the PS2. It's the newer type of PS2 slim, so the power supply is inside the case and outputs 7.5 V, 4.5 A. But the screen was made for the older PS2 slim, so it takes 8.5 V. And now here comes the part I need help with: I was planning to use...

Re: Noob is making a portable PS2
I don't really know what you mean by remotes.
And if by adapters you mean the console's and the screen's, I don't know.
As I said, I'm still waiting for them to be shipped.

Noob is making a portable PS2
Hi, I'm kinda new to making portables (in fact, I never made one) and I want to build a portable PS2. Now there will probably be someone saying, "o no a newb should not start with a ps2 you better make a NES first." But I really want a PS2, not a NES. :/ I have read Ben's story of how he made his PS...
