Re: Screens You CAN and CANNOT Use
Hi Guys, New to this forum but have been following BenHeck's work for sometime :) My question is would an LCD resistive touchscreen from a Binatone Homesurf 7 (1st gen) be usable in projects? I am looking to use it as a small second monitor on my new PC to 1) display temps/volts/sensors and 2) use ...

Also worth mentioning that proper application of thermal grease could have an even bigger impactGamerdude wrote:Worth mentioning that a good thermal grease can make a 5+ degree difference. Proof: skinneelabs.com/2011-tim-results/

Re: How does everyone do this ? O_O
People typically either go with an aftermarket cooler (I forget the form factor used) With his original 360 laptop, he custom-made his own water cooling system, which was basically a nightmare. He basically made his own heatsink for the rest of them too: http://www.engadget.com/2007/04/25/how-to-mak...

Re: how to mod xbox 360 controller to work on PS3
Or you can do it the REALLY hard way: Either: Reverse-engineer the PS3 bluetooth connection, plug a wired xbox controller into a microcontroller controlling a bluetooth transmitter, and make it work, Or: Get a wired PS3 controller, reverse-engineer its protocol, reverse-engineer the wired XBOX 360 c...

Re: Screens You CAN and CANNOT Use
Not sure on the PSP. Most of the others don't seem like there would be an easy way. Unless they have a video-in port, it would be nearly impossible, unless you feel like going to a LOT of work (i.e. using a digital logic analyzer to figure out the protocol for communicating to the screen, emulating ...

Re: How do i make a portable?
Well most of all people start with a NES. Pretty simple and cost like $120 if you have nothing. I right now could start one for $60. $60 for the screen. But if you want to have more of a chalenge start with a Gamecube (Not recomended for NooBs. I went through 3 boards all ready in 2 days. ) The thi...

Re: Ps2 slim laptop- question
For starters
Screens You Can and Cannot Use
Thisis the one that I'm working with. 7.1", $40
A 5" PS1 screen will run you around $50-60
An xbox screen (used) will be at least $25 (7")
I personally like the one that I work with because it comes with a (smallish) battery.

Re: Screens You CAN and CANNOT Use
So I would like to build a SNES portable later this year and would prefer a larger screen than the 5.25" PSOne screen. What are my options? I want to keep the 4:3 aspect ratio please, no widescreens. Basically I am after a bigger PSOne screen. Any intelligent suggestions? Cheers, Alistair G. How mu...

Re: prospective gcp build
It's been a while since my last update, I've been a bit busy lately. Anyways I decided that I didn't want to risk the prying method of removing connectors, so I tried the 'use a lot of solder and soldering irons to heat up all of the pins at once and then remove the connector' method. This is what I...

Re: Possible to design a YPbPr component or HDMI cable for GC?
Three things I can think of:
1)Take apart gamecube and solder directly to the pads on the motherboard
2)Find a broken connector and use that
3)Try to find some other part that has that pads like that and try to use that (i.e. pci card)

Also, from what I've read so far it appears to me (no offense) that you don't really understand the basics of electronics. I suggest that you read through and understand the following pages: http://www.makingthings.com/teleo/products/documentation/teleo_user_guide/electronics.html" onclick="window.o...

okay, so i connect the [System] = regulator board (the power board? or the adjustable regulator?) [Battery] = my battery (the wires that go into the gc?) [Charger] - charger circuitry (Psone yellow charger female jack) the wires for all these are red and black? [System] = the power board that sat b...

Re: Potential 7.4v GC Powerboard
No, no no. We are not using this chip to power the GC, this chip is already on the back of certain powerboards with the neccessary components. Wow. Totally misread what you said there (oops  )... Also, zenlocs regs cost much less than the alternatives you posted, and are more efficient. Not s...
