I'm going to build his custom regulator and want to use 7.4 volt batteries,
but I don't know wich batteries I need.

you can also cut off the connector in the lid sensor, maybe extend it and solder on a slide switch
you can also solder the female connector out the lid sensor in case you ever need it :p

here is my method to "fool" the gamecube
1. go to foundmy and buy qoob replacement wires.
2. once you have them solder off the little PCB
3. solder new (possibly shorter) wires on the little PCB
4. solder a slide switch on the wires
5. connect

Uhh, that's how 12v gets to the system. Try it with the Disk Drive and get back to us on how it works. Since you can power the GCN on lower than 12v, you may be right. i'm quite sure it will because the disk drive get's supplied with 5 volt (see qoob pro guide (type qoob pro installed on google ima...

i tried to turn on the gc with the original power adaptor but i forgot to take out the battery and now the power adaptor is ruined

I found out you can wire the power regulator with only 4 wires instead of 5
the gc runs just fine i have not wired the DD yet but will sure be testing it again then
