Re: n64 powers on for a few secs, then restarts...
Its not just a 'normal' 9v battery is it? ...is that possible? I feel like the voltage would sag. well, no, i'm not. Its not a 8-cell NiMh is it? both of those things are not ideal. it's a lithium battery from a dvd battery pack. It's an add on, so i didn't actually take it out of a dvd player, tho...

Re: n64 powers on for a few secs, then restarts...
hmm, i thought that 1000uf has more capacity than 100uf... i'm a noob, though also, i figured that the capacitor isn't actually necessary, but just for protection from voltage spikes, or something, since it's connected in parallel.... so i already tried just removing the thing, but the 64 continued ...

n64 powers on for a few secs, then restarts...
I wired my n64 to an led modded ps1 screen and a battery, pretty much with harshboy's wiring diagram. I'm using a pth08000, although i'm using a 2.2k ohm resistor and a 1000 uf cap, since that's what i had on hand. when i turn it on, it starts up, and the game runs for less than ten seconds, then th...

psone screen 9 volt battery question
the psone screen takes 8.5V max, but my battery is 9V. I'm not sure where to get 7808 linear regulators (I don't want to make a digikey order for only one part), but is it alright if I just use a 1N4001 diode to drop the voltage, since I have some on hand? It won't be as consistent as an actual regu...

Re: how to power n64 with charger?
it depends on how many Amps the charger is capable of supplying at that voltage

how to power n64 with charger?
I don't know of a charger that supplies enough current to power the n64, so if I made a portable, I wouldn't be able to play it without using the batteries. How do y'all do it?

Re: Charging Question
yea, I've looked on batteryspace, and the highest charger they have for 7.4v is 1.2A, which I don't isn't enough to power a n64 portable, I believe.
edit: does anyone have a solution for being able to power the portable (n64) with the same power supply as that which charges the batteries?
