Re: n64 powers on for a few secs, then restarts...
It's a lithium-ion. It has four cells. My best guess is that it's four 3.7v cells and the company are.... LIARS  Another option could be that my multimeter is complete and utter crap. Whatever though it still works fine... (Side note: At one point the battery was outputting closer to 9v but t...

Re: n64 powers on for a few secs, then restarts...
There's tons of extra space inside lol. Just pry or dremel it open starting at the back and work around to the front. Just be patient so you dont snap the leds or something.

Re: n64 powers on for a few secs, then restarts...
Is your battery a Coby BP-420? That's the battery I'm using and it works great. It has the same setup (li-ion, fuel gauge, 9v). It actually puts out less that 9v (around 8.2) but it works totally fine. Like I suggested use 2 1kOhms resistors instead of a 2.2 and hopefully you'll get better results. ...

Zenith screen should be fine.. It is the EXACT same as a psone screen. And IMO it looks way cooler . Not sure what you mean about the killswitch...

Re: n64 powers on for a few secs, then restarts...
Try using two 1kohms resistors instead the 2.2. The actual value of the resistor should be as close to 1.89kohms as possible. Otherwise recheck all connections and replace your capacitor with a 100uf one. There should be no problem with a 9v battery (works perfectly fine in my setup). Good luck

Did you decided to purchase the screen from business-sun?? I wasn't aware that it had contrast control as well! Well I guess that's even better

Re: help noob
Yeah my parents bought me a soldering gun for Christmas. It's too powerful and the tip is not ideal for this type of work. A cheap soldering iron works just fine.

Re: The definitive 3.5" Lcd review
Just ordered one. Hopefully it will work out well Strange that it's the same price as the model without the buttons but it's worth a test.

Re: The definitive 3.5" Lcd review
This seller on ebay (business-sun) has two models of 3.5" screen with brightness adjustment (not sure about contrast). One of the screens is the model you're dealing with (#3) and one is a different model that I haven't seen. http://cgi.ebay.com/mini-3-5-TFT-Color-LCD-Car-Monitor-left-right-adjust_W...

Re: n64 portable multiplayer
There is no set method for wiring analog sticks. It all depends on the combination of your 3rd party controller and analog stick. Just tinkering around is usually the best way to get it functional. There are some guides on using a gamecube stick in the reference section though...

Re: ok considering a different screen
It will be a fairly difficult project. Mine is in progress and from experience i can assure you that you will probably break something of value (n64 mobo, screen, battery, etc.). Don't get discouraged. Psone screen is probably a good idea considering that getting a smaller screen doesn't decrease th...

Re: ok considering a different screen
2.5" is EXTREMELY small... Like ipod sized or smaller. If you want to be able to see anything, I would definitely recommend a 3.5" screen. Hailrazer posted a great guide on your options for 3.5".

Re: n64 portable multiplayer
PS2 stick absolutely does work, and the internal tact switch (L3/R3) is very cool. I have wired this joystick up with success (snowpenguin has done this as well). Gamecube joystick works just as well, but this is simply FYI.
